"Okay," Crispin nodded. "Callie isn't likely to lead us astray, but when did she develop this fortune-telling ability?"

"Better safe than sorry," Fintan frowned, recalling how Calliope told him.

He remembered her mentioning what would happen a month later, and suddenly, a chill ran down his spine. If it were false, that was one thing. But what if it were true?

If he ignored Calliope’s warning and it all came to pass, what then? What would happen to his wife, son, and beloved Portia?
