A cold smile crept across my face, a wave of vindictive satisfaction washing over me.

Just then, my secretary rushed into the room. "Mr. Smith, Emma's here. She's downstairs."

I raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise flickering through my mind. "What does she want? Could she really be here to beg for mercy?"

The secretary hesitated, then spoke in a low voice, "Ms. Emma seems to be here to ask for your help. She said if you don't help her, she might end up in prison."

I let out a cold snort, my face filled with disdain. "Prison? That's exactly where she belongs!"

With that, I strode out of my office and headed downstairs to the lobby.

The sight that greeted me stopped me in my tracks.

There was Emma, kneeling on the floor, covered in dust and dirt. Her hair was a tangled mess, and streaks of tears ran down her face.

"Liam, please, I'm begging you, save me," Emma pleaded, her voice choked with sobs. "If I go to prison, it's over for me. Please, for the sake of what we once had, help me."

I stared down at her coldly, not a shred of sympathy in my heart. "Emma, how dare you come here and beg me? Did you ever think about this moment when you betrayed me?"
