Everyone who sat at the same table with Old Mr. Shain was directly related to the Shain family in Seaxus.

Old Mr. Johnson also turned to look at Rachel. 

Rachel, who was sharp and clever, noticed the flash of unease and nervousness in her maternal grandfather’s eyes. Several thoughts and doubts flashed in Rachel’s mind.

Hearing Rachel’s words, David slowly lifted his head. David looked at Rachel with his dark eyes as he studied her. A few seconds later, the faint smile on David’s face slightly deepened and he said, “There’s no need to thank me.” 

Due to David’s arrival, everyone was more or less unable to feel at ease and felt restrained. 

The tense atmosphere continued until Iris, who was wearing a gown. walked over with the groom for a toast. 

Other than a few elders who remained seated, almost everyone stood up. However, David was an exception and did not stand.
