After hanging up the phone, Rachel’s heart was still beating faster, as if she had been caught cheating. 

She took a deep breath and turned to look at the man in the wicker chair. 

The man casually placed his left hand on his lap and held a cup of tea in his right hand. His clean jawline exuded cold and abstinent vibes. 

The most eye–catching thing was the faint lipstick mark at the corner of the man’s mouth. 

Rachel could not help but recall the scene of the two of them kissing. Her face turned red. “I’ll go back to my room first.” 

With that, she turned around and ran without waiting for David’s response. 

When she returned to her room, she pressed her back against the door and covered her slightly hot face. 

This was definitely the craziest day she had ever had. 

Not only did she agree to his pursuit, but she even allowed his kiss. 

Moreover, somehow, she wanted to kiss him more. 

Rachel’s hand slowly slid down her burning cheek and tapped her lips. The corners of her mouth curled up uncontrollably. 

She shook her head and controlled herself from letting her imagination run wild. She raised her hand to lift the hair that had slid down in front of her face and walked towards the bathroom. 

The warm water wrapped around her body like silk, and fatigue gradually swept over her. 

After drying her hair, she lolled about on the bed and slowly fell asleep. 

At the same time, the gate of the manor slowly opened on both sides, and a dark purple Bugatti drove into the manor. 

As soon as Jimmy entered, he went straight to David’s study. He sized up the books on the bookshelf with interest and said casually, “David, it’s rare for you to come back. Don’t always be busy with work. Shall we go out for a gathering tonight?” 

“Not interested.” David flipped through the document in his hand. 

Jimmy lounged lazily on the side of a single sofa, his legs crossed and his beautiful eyes sparkling. The angle of his raised eyebrows was just right, revealing a hint of flirtation amidst his playful gaze, which was why he was good at sweeping women off their feet. 

“David, although work is important, we still have to strike a balance between work and rest, right? You’ve been attending meetings and working ever since you came back. Where’s the fun in that? I was sincerely looking forward to having a welcome party for you. I even came here personally. You can’t keep rejecting me, can you?” 

David did not hesitate at all. “No.” 

He was worried about Rachel’s departure tomorrow morning. 

He wanted to spend more time with her as much as possible before she left. 

Jimmy was speechless. 

He could not help but sit up straight and look at David from head 

to toe. 

Compared to Jimmy who did not reject anyone, David had always been calm and unapproachable. 

Previously, he had always thought that David looked down on those vulgar women, but now, David’s indifferent attitude had made Jimmy wonder. 

Jimmy was wondering that maybe, just as others said, David had some secrets that he was too embarrassed to talk about. 

Just as Jimmy was about to speak, the phone in his pocket suddenly rang. He hesitated for half a second before picking up the call. “What’s wrong?” 

The butler on the other end of the call said respectfully, “Miss Shaw suddenly has a fever and wants to see you.” 

“If she has a fever, let her go to the hospital!” Jimmy’s eyebrows were filled with impatience. 

With that, he hung up. 

He turned around and saw David sitting in a chair with a thoughtful expression. He called out tentatively, “David?” 

David asked thoughtfully, “A sudden fever?” 

Jimmy paused for a moment, then a knowing smile appeared on his face. “It’s nothing more than a little trick, like deliberately taking a cold shower. Her acting skills are really poor.” 

His words were filled with disdain. 

“It does seem like that,” David said. 

Jimmy looked at him. He did not know if it was his imagination, but he felt that David was thinking about something else. 

“David, why don’t you consider having a gathering tonight? I heard that it’s gonna rain tonight. Why don’t we take the opportunity to compete? It’s been a long time since we’ve done something this exciting.” 

“It’s gonna rain tonight?” thought David. 

Now David felt that Jimmy’s suggestion was very good. 

An imperceptible dark glint flashed across David’s eyes. “Okay.“
