He pulled the car over at the front of one of the biggest car dealerships in the country. It was the Avalyn Automobiles. She couldn't see where they were yet. The glass was tinted.
He gazed at her again. She wasn't looking at him. He didn't know what to think. He looked away from her, his face thrown towards the windshield.
He was not schooled in the art of dealing with women. Who amongst the men are? It was quite an expensive art which even the richest man can't afford. He goes bankrupt whenever he makes an attempt to make a purchase.
He didn't make an attempt to say a word. He stepped out of the car and walked to her side. He got the door of the car and she stepped out.
When she stepped out, her eyes widened. It was obvious that there was something which came as a shock to her.
She looked away from the tag of the magnificent company to Damien. Her tough face softened a bit. Her gaze was inquisitive. She wanted to ask a question but she didn't.
From the look of things, Damien could deduce several meanings from her reactions but he didn't want to be opinionated.
He shut the door. When he did and looked back at her, she didn't look shocked anymore. But unlike the manner at which she looked in the car, her face was still and calm.
Damien knew that she was still mad, even though he had no idea what for. Yet, he was impressed that she didn't let that corrupt her face while she stepped out of the car; she didn't want to show it to the public.
"Shall we?"
He offered his arm. She took a mild glare at him then looked away.
"I'll walk on my own."
She announced and kept walking towards the entrance of the company. Damien stood there for a while.
WHAT THE HELL IS ALL THIS ABOUT? WHAT DID I DO? DID I OFFEND HER? HOW COME I DON'T KNOW WHAT I DID?
He thought of it for a while. Then something occurred to him suddenly. His long face melted into a thin smile.
YES! THAT MUST BE IT. THAT MUST BE THE PROBLEM. IT'S BECAUSE OF WHAT THOSE NINE DUMMIES DID TO HER. SHE DECIDED TO TAKE THE RAGE OUT ON ME. IT'S REASONABLE.
He nodded fiercely. It was as though he needed to convince himself that he got everything under control. Even though it seemed as though he was telling a fat lie to himself.
"Wait..."
His call at her made her stop at the entrance. He walked briskly to her. There was a security man who wanted to get the door for her. Damien made his eyes glow at the man. The man shuddered.
Elisa gazed at him again, he did the usual smile. This time, the smile was a little forced, which made him look like a burnt offering from the medieval Isreal rites.
He got the door for her and she stepped in. He felt in his heart that he was beginning to lose his mind for her. He didn't know if it was a good thing or bad.
There were somethings which he didn't think he could do for a lady, which he had voluntarily, and without second thoughts did for her. And one of them was pushing the door open for her.
At the rate at which he was going. At the level which he had just attained. He was the type who should go around with about hundred henchmen who would do the dirty works for him.
But he didn't feel the need for bodyguards yet. He couldn't convince himself yet why he needed them.
He had a system and had people at his disposal whom he could assign duties to. People who would do it with all their hearts and not make a mistake.
Perhaps in the nearest future, when he exposes his true self to the real world. Perhaps at that moment in time, he would find a need for them.
When they stepped into the showroom of several exotic cars, she gasped. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. It was as though she was smitten by a charm. It was conspicuous in the manner at which she gazed upon Damien.
IT LOOKS LIKE HER MOOD IS GETTING BETTER. I DON'T WANT TO RUIN THIS. I SHOULD THINK WELL.
He told himself. He did what he would do usually. Smiled.
Soon enough, they had attracted the attention of some of the people in the large space which contained fleets of hanging cars which were in displays.
"Hi, ma'am. Welcome to Avalyn Space."
The man started, giving no regards to Damien.
"What kinda cars do you want? We have different Lambo trucks. Bugatti Veyron. Benz of G-class. In several colours of your taste."
The man took a pause, looking at Damien,
"Your secretary could look around for you."
