"Good. I want them to also help shadow that house, but only with a partner that you trust, they'll give them some responsibility."

"Yes, Alpha. And if you don't mind me asking, whose house is this. It will definitely help with deciding who should be chosen."

"No one must know about this," I whispered so that the wolves beside us wouldn't hear us.

"Of course."

"I found my mate, she's human and she lives in that house," I told him throughout mind link. I made sure to look in his eyes so he would know how serious I am. "I'm putting you in charge of this because I trust you, don't disappoint me."

I trained with the wolves for a little while longer before deciding to make a trip to The Red Café. The restaurant was considered very upscale and a pair of sweat pants just wouldn't do, after my shower, I changed into a dark pair of dress pants and a navy blue dress shirt, along with my favorite Tom Ford dress shoes.

The restaurant was packed full and there were still a few customers waiting to be seated. I was checking out the seating chart to see what tables were available when the hostess/waitress came up to me. Her name was Ivy and she was one of the few humans that worked at The Red Café.

"Good afternoon Ryan. How are you?" She asked politely.

"Good and yourself?"

She sighed. "I've seen better days." She fixed the menus so that they were straight.

"What's wrong?" I asked curiously.

"As you can see we're pretty busy and because of the long wait customers are a little more agitated than usual. But it's nothing I can't handle." She shrugged.

"What did the person say?" I said knowingly. The humans in this town could sometimes be ruthless.

"One old man 'innocently' rubbed my butt, and when I confronted him about it, he acted like it was my fault. Then there was also this blonde girl who insisted that I tell her the difference between the chicken sandwich and the chicken salad." She said making me and her both laugh.

"You explained it to her right, lots of people are getting those confused." She nudged my arm.

"It ended up being the hardest conversation I had since I helped my mom explained the birds and the bees to my teenage sister."

Ivy worked here part time as she went to school and help take care of her younger siblings. It was one of the things that made me hire her.

"Ryan, he's the owner." I heard Alex say. I had smelled her scent when I first came in, but I wasn't sure if my mind was just playing tricks with me.

"Ryan?" I ignored Ivy and made my way over to Alex. She was seated in the middle of the restaurant with a blonde haired girl. They resembled each other but the other girl was a few years older.

"Alex, very nice to see you again," I smiled down at her.

"You too." She smiled nervously.

"No, it's fine." Her Aunt Liz told me.

"Is that okay?" I asked Alex.

"Sure." She took a sip of her pineapple juice. "It will give you a chance to tell me about this place." She suggested.

Halfway through the lunch, Willie came up to our table. "There's been an emergency."

LUNA ALEX

"What happen?" Ryan asked Willie.

"I not sure but you need to get home right away." Willie handed him his keys.

"Sorry to cut the night short, ladies." He apologized.

"It's fine. Just go." He nodded and rushed out the place. My heart was beating fast, I was scared about what happened and if he would be safe. For some reason, the idea of Ryan being hurt me to think about. I don't think I could survive the death of another person that I cared about.

"Calm down I'm sure everything will be okay," Liz reassured me.

I hadn't noticed but I was kind of having somewhat of a panic attack. "I'm fine." I breathed. "So what do you think... of this place," I said in as an attempt to change the subject, despite Liz being aware of this she hadn't said anything.
