"Which is nothing. I haven't done anything with my life besides graduate high school." She finished off her drink and then finished off the rest of mine. "Her dream was to become a painter ya' know." She said referring to her mother. "When she met my father she dropped her dreams like a bad habit and did whatever it was that would please him. She wasn't even ready to have kids she was just 1, but he did, so." She shrugged.
"You making it seem like he was a bad person, he loved your mother," I was getting upset at that fact that she was portraying him this way.
My uncle was a good guy and a very traditional one at that. He made it now secret that he wanted a stay at home mate but if that wasn't what Ellie's mother wanted I'm sure they would have come to some sort of compromise.
"I never said he didn't. He did, he loved her. But she lost herself when she met him that's what happens when you meet your mate."
"So you think going on this year long vacation will help?"
I was referring to the traveling that she wanted to do all over the world by herself. It was quite common for wolves to travel a lot but only when they've been mated. That is why I was hesitant to actually agree to let her do this. But I trust Ellie and I know that she can take care of herself.
She shook her head. "No, Ryan this isn't about me, it's about you. You need to stop drinking your problems away." I began laughing, "What's funny?" She asked.
"I drink my problems away and you run from yours, we're really fucked up, you know." She laughed.
"Yea we are and since we're here." She waved the bartender over and ordered a bottle of 1987 cognac. She held her glass up, "To sending a big fuck you to our problems."

Two hours and many drinks later I called my Beta Tyler and my Gamma Daniel to come pick us up since we had been drinking.
"Now, who idea was this?" Tyler asked as he and Daniel helped us out the bar.
"Not mine." Ellie giggles pointing towards me. She was clearly drunk, me on the other hand, was tipsy. Most of the alcohol had already burned off, I just didn't trust myself to drive.
"So I take it you didn't find your mate," Daniel asked.
"What do you think pup?" I growled making him laugh.
"My dad was a wonderful father who didn't deserve to die this way. He was my best friend the only person I could turn to when I needed someone shoulder to cry on. When....when Heather left he was the stayed no matter how tough things got. He dedicated his life to me and the people that love him. He will be forever missed." I hurried and ended the speech before I burst into tears yet again.

The ceremony ended shortly after that and together we went to the gravel site where my father was buried. When I arrived back home I stripped out of my black attire and put on some sweat pants and a big t-shirt. I sat down on the couch turning on me and my dad's favorite reality TV show Big Brother U.S. I watched the contestants compete for HOH when there was a knock at the door. I opened the door to see my Aunt Liz.
"I am not watching your kids," I told her before she could even ask.
"I know because we're going out tonight." She pushed her way into the house carrying bags of clothes that she had probably bought using the money that my dad had left her in his will. It annoyed me that she was spending the money irresponsibly when she had kids to take care of and no job. My father had tried to get her to work at the restaurant, she lasted a whole day before she quit, explaining to us that the work of a waitress was just too hard.
"No way. I just buried my father and you want me to go out." I couldn't even believe the audacity she had to ask me to go out after today's events.
"Your dad wouldn't want you to be like this." Says the girl who only came around when she needed money or a babysitter or money. "I know, what do I know." She said in a voice that I guess was supposed to be similar to mine. "You just turned 18 and you just graduated from high school and you haven't had one good day since. What's gonna happen when you go off to college-?" I cut her off before she could go on one of her meaningless rants.
