"Thank you." He handed me the roses and I placed them in a vase that was already filled with flowers.

"Shall we?" He held out his arm for me to grab.

"We shall."

When we arrived at the party I was bombarded by my former peers. They made sure I knew how much they missed me and how sorry they were about my father's passing. I made sure to thank them and apologize for my absence. Halfway through the evening I was able to finally have a break from mingling and took a seat on the couch. A few minutes later Xavier joined me.

"Everybody really missed you, you know?"

"Yea I know. I missed you guys too."

"Even me?" He flirted.

"Of course," I smiled.

"What are you two lovebirds talking about?" Kendra said coming and squeezing between Xavier and me.

Kendra had been my best friend all throughout high school and we had recently stopped being as close after my father's death. We went from talking and hanging out every day to me not even responding to her messages. When I first arrived I had pulled her aside and we had a one on one talk and we made up and went back to how things were before like nothing had ever happened.

"Nothing, just catching up," I told her.

Kendra smiled maliciously, "Do you guys remember the beginning of junior year when you guys had huge crushes on each other and couldn't even function around each other?" She laughed making Xavier and myself blush lightly. "Xavier would stutter and you," She pointed at me, "Would blush at everything he said."

"That was so long ago," I said.

"It was." Xavier agreed.

"Really a long time ago?" She looked at us in disbelief. "It was like a couple of weeks ago. I don't understand why you guys broke up, I mean I know y'all are going off to different colleges but at least y'all could do is enjoy the summer together, see where life takes it."

"Why string along the inevitable?"

"But why not be happy?" She questioned.

I ignored the awkwardness that Kendra had brought up and gone back to enjoying the night. Around 1 a.m. Xavier had dropped me off but not without making me promise to hang out soon.

"A girl from my school..." I nodded for her to continue. "S-She said that she's your sister."

ALPHA RYAN

"Sorry about last night, I lost control over my wolf." I apologized to Tyler.

This morning when I had woken up the first thing I had done was go to the pack hospital to check on my Beta. He had suffered a concussion and some bruising but was healing fast and would be able to check out of the pack hospital after his test results came back.

"It fine." He waved it off. "What happen to make you lose control of your wolf?"

I sighed and took a seat in the chair near his bed. "I've found my mate." His eyebrows furrowed still not understanding why I attacked him. "She was with another guy." He along with his mate growled.

When I had first arrived and wanted to speak with Tyler alone she refuses to leave the room afraid that I might attack him again. Even though she was the quiet type and she had no chance at beating me she didn't hesitant to protect her mate. With me finally finding my mate I understand why she did what she did, so I didn't force her to leave.

"Does she know she's your mate? Why would she be out with another guy? Say the word and I'll kill the bastard." His mate nodded in agreement. Both of their wolves were extremely protective over me and their future Luna, despite them having not met her yet.
