"We celebrating Alex taking the job."

"Oh, so you wouldn't mind me joining, right?"

"No." My wolf growled. "Us alone with mate."

She laughed. "I'm joking, you should have seen the look on your face."

I smiled and nodded hoping that my mate would hurry and rescue me from this awkward conversation.

"How long have you guys been open?" She randomly asked.

"A couple months." She nodded in approval.

"Wow, you guys have done really well for yourself."

I heard my mate walking down the steps and a few seconds later she was standing in the entrance of the living room looking more beautiful then ever.

She eyed me up and down making my wolf purr."How do you know where I live?" She said interrupting my wolf naughty thoughts.

"Er what?"

"How do you know where I live." Her eyebrows scrunched up making her look even cuter, if that was possible.

"Ohh right." I laughed awkwardly. "Willie told me." I lied.

"The manager of The Red Café?" She questioned.

"Yes, he has a way of forgetting out everything."

"Oh okay."

An with that I was finally able to sigh in relief. I didn't regret picking her up after all.

Alex

Despite my suspicious of how Ryan found out my address I still agreed to go out to dinner with him. When we got to the Mexican restaurant Ryan parked the car and went around the car to open the car door for me.

"Thank you." He placed his hand on my waist guiding me to the entrance. It was weird how intimate he was being especially since he was my new boss, but I couldn't say I didn't like it.

Not only did I once again feel those pleasurable tingles going up in my body but I also got a good whiff of his scent, he smelled the woods, the good part.

"Table for two, under Steward." Ryan told the male hostess.

He typed on the computer before nodding. "Right this way."

He lead us to a table in the middle of the restaurant and placed two menus in front of us. "A waiter should be here shorter to take your orders."

I nodded. "Thank you." He walked away.

"You look very beautiful tonight." I felt my heart slightly flutter and my face warm.

Before I could respond a female waiter came over. "Mr. Steward how are you." She licked her lips as she eyed him from head to toe.

"Sorry about that." She said immediately after Wendy walked away. "I didn't mean to say we are on a date. I just seriously hate people like that. You can't imagine how many people I've had to fired because they couldn't keep it in their pants." She blushed.

"Its fine I get it." I smirked.

My mate was very sexy when she was jealous.

She cleared her throat. "So, what all do I have to do."

"You can start by checking out the Red Café and then we can scout location for the new building."

"We?" She questioned.

"Yes, we. This is a collaborative restaurant, I'll be there just as well you."

"Of course, I was just shocked that's all. I guess I expected you to be busy."

"Nope we'll work as a team."

The rest of the date went well. She was way more open with telling me about her personal life then I thought she would be. She told me about her father and how he had open the restaurant right out of college and had lived in his office and sometimes motel rooms because he couldn't afford a home as well as the restaurant. She also went into detail about how she would go there every day after school and after she finished her homework she would be in the kitchen helping Jack or helping her father run the front of the house.

One thing that I notice is how she never mentioned her mother. I decided not to ask my question because I was afraid that it would somehow upset her.

Maybe she was also dead? Or maybe she didn't know her?

No matter what the issue was I wouldn't ask or speak on it until she was comfortable talking to me about it.
