"Please don't tell me you hired her?" Melissa said as she barged into my office looking less than pleased.
"Yes, why?"
"She goes to my school and she and her friends are total assholes. They think because they're rich and drive nice cars that they're better than everyone else."
"She's seemed nice." I shrugged and went back to scrolling down my Facebook newsfeed.
She scoffed. "Looks can be deceiving."
"Have you ever even talked with her?" I questioned even though I was sure that I knew the answer.
"No." She paused. "But that's because she and her friends have refused to associate with anyone besides each other, it's been that way since kindergarten."
Lily seemed like a really sweet girl, and I think she would be a great asset to the restaurant. I was sure there was a valid reason for her and her friends acting this way.
"Well, I already told her she got the job, what do you want me to do?"
"Tell her you changed your mind." She turned to give me what I guess were the puppy dog eyes. "Please, I really don't want to work with her, I mean I get enough of them in school." She begged.
"Melissa relax, I'm sure she's not that bad, and if she is I would just have to let her go."
She huffed. "Fine. But don't expect me to interact with her."
"You will." I declared without looking up at her.
"Fine, but I won't be nice." She argued.
"You will be nice," I said matter-of-factly.
"Fine, but I won't like it." She folded her arms around her.
I smirked. "I wouldn't expect nothing more of you."

"So you're telling me that $500,000 just magically appeared in your account," Liz said in disbelief.
It was late in the evening and I was supposed to be home packing but since the house was paid off there was no sense in leaving. I had called Liz to tell her this and just like I predicted she had many questions.
"Yes! I called the bank and they said it wasn't a mistake, someone sent a check with my bank account name on it."
Any normal person would be appreciative that her debt was paid off but I couldn't help but be curious about who would do this for me and why.
"Who do you think it was?"
"If I knew do you think I would be asking you?
"Maybe..." She paused before breaking out into a laugh. "Ryan. It was him." She said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
I open the door and the first thing I notice was a familiar scent, it was a wolf from my pack but I couldn't put my finger on who it was with it being so faint and plus I was more intrigued by my mate's scent. She looked even more beautiful than my mind could ever remember. I could hear Liz over the phone trying to get her attention but her attention was on me, and me and my wolf were loving it.
"...Liz, I'm gonna have to call you back." She hung up. "It was you, wasn't it?" She accused.
"Yes, but hear me out." I rushed out.
"I'm listening."
"How about dinner?" I suggested.
"What?"
"I will explain everything," I promised. And I meant everything, including me being a wolf and she being my mate.
"Fine. When?" She placed her hands on her hip.
"Tomorrow my house 7 p.m."
Telling her at my house was the best idea. She would be in my territory and if she reacted in a bad way it would be easier for me to contain it.
She sighed. "Fine."
