"Son, are you alright?" My father asked, interrupting my thoughts.

We were in my office going over the details of the rogue's attacks that had recently happened at a few other packs in the surrounding areas. Since the attack on James, there had been no sightings of other rogues on my land but I still wanted to remain caution at all times, just in case.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I was just extremely worried about tonight and still haven't decided on what I would say. "Do you think you, mom and Lily could stay at the pack house, I'm having company over tonight for dinner?"

Ever since the early ages of our pack all of the Alpha's family lived together. When I became Alpha I moved into the master bedroom on the top floor while everybody resided on the floors below.

"Is this company your mate?" He asked knowingly.

Growing up I had always been close to the both of my parents. My mom has always been the nurturing type and ever since I could remember she had always had a soothing effect on my wolf and I.

But my father he understood me better than anyone. I had always confided in him with all of my problems. While I appreciated him being there, I always hated how he could never keep a secret from my mom. Then eventually the secret would be spread across the pack one by one.

"Yes." I sighed. "I'm gonna have to tell her tonight, I tired of doing the tricks and stupid gimmicks."

I knew having a human mate could never be simple, but I wanted it to be. I wanted her to be by my side to help me lead the pack, I wanted her to bare my mark and be pregnant with my pup.

He nodded. "Fine. Would you like your mother to cook?"

"Yes, please."

While I was an okay cook, I knew my mother was ten times better and I wanted to make a good impression and with my mother's cooking, I knew I would.

"Maybe you should go and get some sleep before, you look really tired." His comment was no surprise, I was so anxious last night that I hadn't slept much last night. "I'll watch over the pack, just go."

It was only one o'clock so I had a while before my mate would be here. I nodded and was about to leave my office but stopped. "Dad?"

"Yes?"

"How do you think I should say it?"

"You know what I always say, ripped it off like a Band-Aid."

I nodded and made my way up to my room, I stripped down to my underwear before climbing into bed and falling asleep.

Anytime there was an event or some sort of special occasion even if it was something as simple as the time I shifted she had always gone overboard and made sure to have this big party with all these fancy decorations and food.

"By the way, I sent Daniel to pick her up."

"Mom?" I groaned.

"Hush boy, I know what I'm doing." She scolded through our link. "If she brought her car it would be easier for her to leave if she freaks out."

Maybe she had put more thought into this than I had. She had sent Daniel who I knew would protect her with his life and have put together the perfect romantic setting. I was just worried on how to tell Alex, her reaction, and the aftermath wasn't too much on my mind.

"You're the best."

"And don't you forget it."

I cut off the mind linked between us and went into the kitchen. There were dishes of food on the counter with a lid covering them. I removed all the lids to see that she had made us steak, and baked potatoes, with asparagus, there was also a bottle of red wine that would definitely go well with the steak.
