She bit her lip nervously, "Sorry I didn't tell you."
"It's fine. I should have been more careful." I said referring to the very first time that we mated. "I sorry for being a tool these last few days."
"I know you're going through a lot and I should have been more understanding." She ran her hands through my hair, comforting me.
"And about the baby?"
There was a long paused before she responded, "Eventually... but I have way too much on my plate right now, plus I think this is the time where we just focus on us."
"That fine," I said trying to hide my disappointment. "I just thought a baby would bring light back into the pack and I really want to be a dad."
She put her head on my shoulder and pressed a kiss to my forehead, "We have all the time in the world."
"Yeah," I replied with clear disappointment.
ALPHA RYAN
Three Months Later
Slowly the pack began to rebuild and eventually things were back to normal- well as normal as things could be without my father and a dozen other pack members. My mother was still grieving and still remained in her room for the majority of the day, only coming out when I had forced her to. Lily, on the other hand, was blocking everything out as if nothing had every happened. She dedicated most of her time to working at the diner and into her school work, barely leaving any time for any regular teenage activities.
The anger that I had towards my father was still present in my heart I would eventually have to deal with these emotions but for now, I was focusing primary on my pack and keeping everyone safe. "Any usual activities around the borders?" I asked Tyler at one of our daily meeting that I had put in place since the attack on my pack.
"Not at all, with the constant patrolling there's no way anyone is getting in or near our territory with us knowing." Tyler field me in. "I know you're still paranoid but-."
"Good." I waved home off. "You are dismissed."
"Everything good with you?" He ignored my request for him to leave. Tyler meant well, but the questions he wanted to ask me, I didn't have the answers to.
"Great!" I replied with fake enthusiasm.
"If you ever need anything, I'm here for you." I nodded in acknowledgment and within moments my office door shut behind him.
