"First off I want to thank my beautiful mate for putting this all together. Without this, none of this would be possible." He took the hand that he was already holding and pressed it against his lips. "For years our packs have been going at it and now that we know that it was due to no fault of our own it is great that we all can put our differences aside and come together as one and enjoy a night of fun. We got loads of alcohol, kickass music, and each other. Let's party!"
I scoffed at his terrible speech, "Be nice." Alex elbowed me.
"It hard when he gave such a shitty speech."
"Whatever just make sure you thank him for saving your life." She rolled her eyes before going over to greet her new best friends Judi.
Drinking the last sip of my beer I threw the bottle in the garbage, sucked up my pride and headed over to Mason who was standing with his mate. "Luna, Mason." I nodded in acknowledgment at the both of them.
"Alpha." She should her respect by bowing her head which clearly made Mason upset from the scold on his face. "I leave you two alone." She kissed her mate's cheek and walked over to where Alex and the others were.
"Ryan, what can I do for you?" He asked happier than I had expected. One thing I had noticed was that he was full of light, even the war being over made him overjoyed or something in his life had gone well.
"I was wondering if I could talk to you...in private," I added seeing as though we had gained the attention of most of the people in the crowds.
"Sure." He gestured for us to head into the house and into his office. "What do you want to talk about?" He sat down at his desk.
I took a deep breath before beginning, "I want to thank you from the b-bottom of my heart for saving my life and-." I interrupted myself to swallowed down the vomit that was fighting to come up.
"This is torture for you huh?" A smirked cover his face as he folded his arms.
"Yes, yes it is." I gritted out.
"A few months ago I was at the worst point in my life and seeing you this tore up and knowing I'm the sole reason that you're alive would be like heaven on earth." He paused, "But now I have my mate, my pack is thriving, no wars in the distance I couldn't be happier." Standing up he went over to his table full of liquor and pulled two glasses of whiskey and handed it to me. "So fuck the apology and let's have a drink."
"You should really work on your shitty speeches."
