A whole month had passed and she had given birth to a healthy baby boy. In the card that I had given her, I had propositioned for us to possibly have a sit-down and get the closure that we desperately needed even if that meant us not talking ever again afterward. I needed her to know that I loved and as long as she knew that I was going to have to learn to be okay with us not having a relationship. She hadn't reached out to me at all, and I was convinced that Ryan hadn't given the letter to her at all. That is why it came as a shock to me to have her standing at my front door.

"H-Hi." I stuttered, still trying to get over the initial shock of her being here.

"Hi, can I come in?" The expression she wore giving nothing away.

"Yes! Of course." I replied with excitement as I opened the door so that she could come in. I then gestured for her to follow me into the kitchen. "I'm making a pot of tea, would you like some?"

"Sure." She sat down at the table making herself comfortable. Nodding I got two tea cups from the cupboards and poured tea in each cup and placed the sugar and honey in front of her. Taking my seat across from her I nervously added sugar into my tea.

"So how have you been?"

"Um-okay I guess, nothing remotely interesting as of yet."

She nodded but didn't reply, for the next few minutes we sat in silence while drinking our tea and avoiding eye contact. "This is super awkward so I just gonna get to it." I took a deep breath preparing myself for what was to come next. "Where were you?"

"Huh?" I asked dumbly, with that not being the question that I was expecting.

"You didn't even come to my shower; you haven't even tried to reach out to me not once."

"I-I'm sorry but Ryan told me not to come." I placed my hand on my heart hoping for it to slow down before I have a heart attack. "And I sent you a gift."

"So Ryan told you not to come so you're not even going to try."

I frowned, "I didn't want to upset you."

"The one thing that Junior has taught me in his short life span is to never give up. You abandon me and gave up on me."

"I've never given up on you." I snapped at her, "I'm just a good loser."
