"Aww you guys are literally the cutest!" Chloe squealed.

"I know right!" Liam joined in a few seconds later.

I rolled my eyes at them, "Come on guys."

I walked out and shifted. Without another glance to see if they're following or not, I ran after Austin's scent.

I arrived at the east side of the border and found that I was alone. Huh, the lazy asses. I sniffed the air and the scent of blood filled my nose. I looked around and started to panic when I can't see Austin anywhere.

Where are you?

A few meters away from you

I huffed. How could I not smell him when he's literally a few meters away.

I ran towards him and the scent of blood got stronger. As I got closer I saw someone lying on the ground. I stepped a little closer and froze.

No this can't be happening. He's dead. I saw the whole entire place burn to the ground. I shook my head, not believing it.

I went behind a tree and shifted, putting some clothes on.

"Will he be ok?" I asked Austin, not able to tear my eyes from the body, or should I say Robert on the ground.

Austin sighed, "I don't know. From the burns, cuts, and bruises I don't think so."

I bit my bottom lip as I stared at Robert.

Austin, seeing my anxious face asked, "You okay?"

I nodded and watched as some pack warriors carried him towards the pack house.

At the pack house

We were currently waiting outside as the pack doctor attended to Robert. I shifted my weight on the chair.

The pack doctor, Jake, came out and I immediately stood up.

He smiled as Austin and I approached him.

"Alpha, Luna," he said nodding at us.

"Is he alright?"

"He will be fine, but judging by the burns and cut he will need his rest so he can heal. And by far as I know he is human."

"Ok thank you," Austin said, dismissing him.

He turned to me,"Hey you okay? Do you know him?"

I nodded, "He's like the brother I never had.You know how I can change my size when I'm in fox form?"

"You two know each other?" I asked looking back and forth.

"Yea, we're childhood best buddies," Robert said smiling. He turned to me and asked," And you are?"

"I'm Sky, Austin's mate."

When I said my name his cheerful smile turned into a slight frown.

"What's wrong?" Austin asked.

"I have a fox named Sky. I hoped she made it out of the fire."

My eyes started tearing up. I wanted to tell him that I'm here safe and sound. But he needs his rest so I decided to tell him later.

"Go rest, you need your sleep," I told him well more like ordered him.

We walked out a few minutes after Robert fell asleep.

I turned to Austin," How do you guys know each other? And how does he know you're a werewolf?"

Austin gave me a sad smile, "I was about 5 back then. My uncle just passed away and I was angry. Angry I couldn't save him, angry that I couldn't do anything to help him. Back then I didn't really had any friends so my uncle became like a best friend to me. He would take care of me when my parents are away. So I ran, I didn't realize where I was going and when I took in my surroundings I realized I was in the park that's located in the middle of town. That's where I met Robert. He was building sandcastles and he saw me. He invited me to play with him and I agreed. When we were 15, that's when I had my first shift. He helped me through it."

"Wasn't he afraid of what you are?"

He shook his head, "It was the complete opposite. He actually looked excited when he found out I was a werewolf."
