Chapter 43 

Lottie’s POV 

“Come on then doll you can get my first drink with your free pass… we will meet you all at the ferris wheel in ten?” Alex wastes no time on taking my hand and dragging me off from Anna and Erik into the busy crowd. 

“I won! Did you see?!” I chime happily, as he only grumbles in response causing me to tilt my head. 

What’s his problem now? 

“What? Cat got your tongue now Mr?” I find myself mocking him, giggling at my own drunken words. 

Again, he ignores me, as we leave the western crowd and reach a more open area of grass… 

“You seriously missed our dancing! We were shaking it up there! We totally deserved this win!” I rant again, still feeling the adrenaline rush from the event. 

With that, Alex turns on his heels, grabs my face roughly – and smashes his lips to mine. 

I almost scream from how sudden the movement was, but decide to kiss him back instead, feeling his hands wander down to my hips – pulling me closer to him if at all possible. 

A moment passes, before I push lightly at his chest for air. He pulls back, his eyes hooded and his face stern as he continues to hold me… 

I notice my shaky hands as they sit on his bare tattooed shoulders, before my eyes dance across the designs – studying them fully. 

“You have so many tattoos!” I comment, having never acknowledged them to his face before. 

“I do?” His sarcastic response comes next, causing me to roll my eyes and to huff slightly. 

“There’s a perfect little patch right there though! You can get something incredible… like my name!” I snort suddenly, pointing to the little uncovered skin patch on his chest. 

I see a smirk tug at his lips next… giving me the result I had hoped to get from the comment… as I grin widely. 

“I knew I could make you smile! Mr grumpy!” I mock, as he shakes his head before pecking me once gently on the head. 

“What’s gotten into you today anyway?” I push, feeling that something was off, as he studies me briefly. 

“You really want to know?” He raises a brow, as I nod instantly. 

Of course I want to know why he’s currently gripping onto me and not wanting to let me go! He’s looked furious ever since I locked eyes with him from the stage! 

“That outfit of yours! The pictures you posted! That’s what’s gotten into me! You might as well be naked asking for every guy to stare at you!” Alex‘ hard tone meets my ears, causing me to tense slightly in his hold. 

Oh… 

He doesn’t like the pictures or think I look cute… 

He must just think that I’m trying to look like a whore… 

But everyone else around here is dressed this way… 

My mind races as my eyes well up slightly, unsure of what to say or how to respond to him. 

“I… thought that you would… like it…” I admit quietly, averting my gaze from his eyes as his hands loosen ever so slightly. 

Silence comes next, as he seems to just hold me in place. I felt sad, probably more so because I had already drank an incredible amount of alcohol, but I felt sad nonetheless that I was really proud of the outcome of the outfit and pictures and yet he doesn’t like them… 

“You don’t understand doll… I really like them… you look hot as f**k! I just get jealous and don’t want anybody else seeing you looking that good!” Alex admits suddenly, gaining my attention, as my eyes perk back up to look at him. 

“Really?” I question, as he inhales deeply – his strong muscles tensing under my hands. 

“I didn’t like that you wore this and posted the pictures when I wasn’t here to protect you… most guys are f**king pigs Lottie… they will take advantage and you need to remember that! You’re prettier than you realise… the guys around here would do anything for a chance with you!” Alex grumbles admittedly, seeming to pull me flush against his chest now as the world around us continued on as though we weren’t even here.

We blended right in, since mostly every second person here stood making out at the festival – which I was glad for or I would have probably grown embarrassed from the ordeal. 

He was right though… I knew first hand just how brutal young guys could be… I didn’t want to be taken advantage of ever again and I don’t blame him for being so protective when he knows himself what I’ve been through… 

“It was just a surprise because I didn’t expect you to show off so much skin either! I’m glad you’re finding your confidence doll but I’m a jealous man and I don’t like others staring at what’s mine.” Alex leans down to talk in my ear, as I shiver under his trance. 

“I’m sorry.” I find myself saying, although deep down I knew that I loved my outfit and how the pictures turned out – I get where he’s coming from. 

“Next time just give me the heads up so that I know to be here by your side the whole day… at least if I’m here guys won’t stare… or at least they won’t get away with staring!” Alex mutters, as I smile slightly at his tone. 

“I will! I didn’t think you would feel this way and I just wanted to surprise you.” I tell him honestly, as he smiles now – flashing me his white teeth. 

“You have doll believe me… I almost lost my shit when I saw the pictures and how good you looked! If I had it my way I would lock you up for life and keep you for myself!” Alex laughs now, as I feel glad to have calmed him ever so slightly. 

“Let’s go get those free drinks! Do you think I’ll need ID with this pass? I ask aloud, as we break apart and Alex begins to walk us towards the drink stand – hands intertwined. 

“Nah I know the guy whose working this one it’s fine.” He states confidently, as I giggle. 

Free drinks all night! For someone who has only ever had alcohol once before! This could go totally wrong! 

“One more thing doll…” Alex suddenly slows as if remembering something, as I nod for him to go on. 

“Can you give me your phone so that I can set your account to private? It means you can choose who you want to let see your stuff and it will keep you safe from anybody that we don’t want knowing where you are…” Alex explains slowly, as my eyes widen in realisation. 

“I… oh I didn’t even think! How stupid! I don’t want anyone from back home finding me online either!” I panic slightly, as he hushes me. 

“It’s fine let me fix it! You can still have the account.” Alex puts his hand out, as I nod and breathe steadily before handing him the phone. 

I watch as he clicks through the settings and checks over my recent followers – which had now reached over one hundred and sixty! 

Woah! 

After a few minutes, he nods his approval and hands me it back before I thank him and relax slightly for how much he had my back with 

all of this stuff… 

“Let’s grab drinks and head to the ferris wheel shall we? I told them ten minutes and it’s been longer…” Alex smirks, as I suddenly remember my friends who I ditched (without choice). 

“Yeah good idea!” I agree, before Alex squeezes us through to the front of the waiting crowd – before he calls over to a guy named ‘Tony‘ 

Free drinks on me I guess!
