Chapter 61 

Alex POV 

Many boring days go by, before the day before the fight soon arrives, and the tension in the air is palpable. 

It has been a long week of keeping Lottie and Anna indoors, hidden away from the three 

threats that loom mer us. 

We’ve taken every precaution to ensure their safety, but the weight of responsibility still sits heavy on my shoulders. 

In the past week, they’ve visited Anna’s place trice, finding nobody to be home, and so they left. They would also regularly train in town for the fight, using one of Freddie’s coaches, as an extra measure to give them the confidence needed to actually go up against me. 

They also loitered around the school yesterday like creeps attempting to ask if anyone had seen or heard from Lottle and had also asked a member of our football team if they could get them a phone number to call her…. 

With no luck, as you could guess, they resorted to sending arther instagram message late last night which reads 

“You’re doing good in this game so far princess…but after Friday night rolls around, you’ll be coming back home where you belong. You’re Mom misses you terribly too… and maybe I’ll even be your new Daddy after I give her another fuck or two… imagine that? Living together princess? How bitter sweet! The countdown is on. 

The message was infuriating, and I seriously hoped that he hadn’t actually fucked Lottie’s Mom although I wouldn’t put it past

I thought it over, and chose not to respond. I wanted to annoy them with silence, riling them up more before the fight. 

From what I’ve gathered, the guys at the training gym in town have been spreading false rumours about me–telling the three of them that I’m not a great fighter and that I’m only in it for some money.. 

They seriously think at this rate that they stand a chance against me now… thanks to everyone’s involvement behind the scenes! It was comical: 

I receive a sudden incoming call from Freddie, as I sit in the living room, mentally preparing for what lies ahead. I answer the call, my voice steady despite the adrenaline that builds in my stomach. 

“Alex, my boy, just wanted to give you a quick update before the fight tomon, Freddie’s deep voice booms through the phone. 

I take a deep breath, ready to hear the details, “Go ahead, Freddie. What’s the plan?” 

“Alright, listen up. The fights will be held in the underground arena. We’ve got a packed crowd, and the atmosphere is going to be electric, Freddie explains, his enthusiasm evident “You’ll be the main event, going up against Jason, Holden and Tommy one after the other.” 

A surge of adrenaline courses through my veins as I digest the information. This is what we’ve been working towards, what we’ve been training for. The opportunity to face these three men and put an end to their reign of terror. 

“And Lottie?” I interject, my voice filled with concern. ‘She will need to be there right? 1 expect her to be kept safe?” 

Freddie’s voice reassures me. “Don’t worry, Alex. Lottie and Anna will be well protected in the upper viewing booth. We’ve got security set in place to ensure their safety throughout the event. They’ll be watching from the most secure location in the house until it’s time for Lottie to make her appearance. 

Relief washes over me, but I can still sense Lotties nervousness as she paces back and forth by the window… I stand up and walk over to her, wrapping my arms around her to offer comfort and reassurance. 

“Lottie, it’s going to be okay,” I whisper into her ear, holding her close as Freddie rambles pointless shit next down the line 

“We’ve taken every precaution to keep you safe. I won’t let anything happen to you” I assure her again, earning a nod

I gently cup her face, my gaze locked with hers. “You’re stronger than you know, Lottie. And we’ll be right there with you, every step of the way,

Chapter 61 

Together, well face them and come out victorious 

*I’ll see you tomorrow Freddie… I’m going to hit the hay soon… I’m practically falling asleep on the line! I announce cutting him short, as he coughs awkwardly and says his goodbyes curtly…. 

“Do you want to go chill upstairs…” Anna enters the room, offering her friend a comforting hand, as Lottie nods and approaches her – leaving me 

behind. 

As the evening progresses, I continue my preparations, lace and Del help me fine–tune my technique and mindset, pushing me to the limits of my abilities… 

We then gather once again in the living room, going over the final details and solidifying our game plan. The atmosphere is a mix of excitement and focused intensity. Jace, Del, and I discuss different scenarios, strategising for what is yet to come…. 

“It’s been a pleasure guys! Tomorrow night will come and ill end all of this for good! Things will go back to how they where before!” I announce, deciding that I wanted to leave enough time tonight to talk with Lottie 

I climb up the steps, arrive at my bedroom, and thankfully find her there, as she brushes her teeth in the bathroom…. 

“Lottie,” I begin, gaining her attention as my voice stays gentle. “I want you to know how proud I am of you. After tomorrow, this will all be over… we can go back to our normal happy life and yout never have to worry about them ever again!” I watch as she finishes brushing her teeth, places the brush back on the stand, before approaching me. 

She stares up at me, her eyes searching mine, and I can see the emotions swirling within her. Thank you, Alex. I couldn’t have done it without you. You’ve been my rock this whole time! I’m a coward on my own.” She admits, as I shake my head. 

“You are not a coward Lottie just because people have outnumbered and bullied you your whole life, doesn’t make you a coward! In fact, the sheer point that you even survived all of their abuse shows just how brave you are! You don’t even realise it doll – you’ve made it this far all on your own!” I encourage her, grabbing her face in my hands. 

A small smule rugs at the comers of her lips, and I can see the small flicker of determination in her eyes. “We’ll show them tomorrow, won’t we? Well prove that they should have never come here looking for trouble.” 

“Of course we will!” I stately, earning a toothy grin from her. 

“Can I ask you something…” She suddenly asks, as though remembering her question. 

“Go for it. I press, as she nods and eyes me warily 

The other day… when we sort of opened up to one another… did you mean what you said? Her voice comes out in a soft whisper, as tingles electrify up my spine. 

“That I love you?” I state bluntly, causing her to blush and only nod. 

“Yes. I meant it… I’ve never felt this way about anybody in my life… so I’m guessing this is what love is.” I admit with a smirk, as she giggles and buries her head in my chest – hiding her red cheeks. 

She’s so cute… my sweet innocent doll… 

We stand there for a moment, finding solace in each other’s presence. Tomorrow will be a defining moment for us, a chance to rewrite our story and reclaim our peace. 

As the night wears on, we settle into bed, holding each other close. We find comfort in the warmth of our embrace, our hearts beating 

in sync. 

With whispered words of encouragement and promises of unwavering support, we drift off to sleep, ready to face the challenges that await us in the ring. 

Together, we will prevail.
