He’d left it alone now for four days, just spent that time with his family on the slopes and allowed them to have a good start to the vacation, but was found by his mother leaning on the balcony just off the living room texting the boys. She’d stared right at him and stated “No, work Calvin, this is a vacation, they are your rules for family vacation.”

It’s not work,” he’d stated, and it wasn’t. Then he’d looked at her and saw she had an outstretched hand, smiled at her when she snapped her fingers at him.

“Hand it over and prove it’s not work,” she stated, clearly didn’t trust him. “Every night you come out here and text while dinner is being prepared.”

He couldn’t even argue with that one. The boys were two hours ahead of them here in Montana, so they’d already had dinner and were settled in for the night, getting ready for bed, but over the past four days, either Marilyn had been taking photos for them and sending them to him, or she’d shown the twins how to do that, and told them they could do so. He’d gotten more photos of them now; many actually.

He knew what their bedrooms looked like and that snow–covered creek too, from the bridge, though they’d already told him it was melting away. “It’s not work,” he assured her. “After dinner, we should all sit down and discuss some changes that are about to happen in my personal life. Which will probably affect everyone to varying degrees,” he told her.

She was now frowning at him. “Affect all of us?

“Mm, you’ll understand when I explain. Just leave it at that until then. But I assure you I’m not working,” he told her.

She’d nodded slowly and returned inside, and he’d looked out at the snow–covered village and muttered to himself “I guess it’s time.” He didn’t honestly know if he wanted to share his secret with them. He actually kind of liked it just being him and Wil in the know. Well there was Anabell too.

His life was quiet about it, and there weren’t a million questions being fired at him from his family or the press, which he knew was going to happen the moment he told them what was going on, and who Marilyn really was, that he had twin sons. That was going to get him a beating from his family he could well imagine. He could feel many eyes on him during dinner, but steadfastly ignored it, until everyone had eaten. Otherwise, the meal would likely go cold. He even got up and helped with the dishes. His brother–in–law, Dane ook his head at him. “Delaying the inevitable is not going to save you, you know,” he chuckled softly.

Calvin had smiled. “Nothing will save me, Dane.” He’d admitted, and then he’d returned to the dining room table after going and collecting that file he’d brought with him, that Wil had compiled to prove Marilyn was Marrin and placed it on the table as he sat down and looked at them all.

He took a deep breath and let it out slowly before stating “I found Marrin.” And he got many ‘yeah right.‘ looks aimed at him. So he elaborated/“Technically, Anabell found her, and Wil confirmed it.” He stated, “This here is the file regarding how the proof of who she is came about. It wasn’t just a, she looks like Marrin. But a full and complete investigation.”/

“Why do you need something like that?” Veronica asked him right away.

“Because, unfortunately, Wil was right all along. Marrin was in a car accident and that recording on my answering machine all those years ago, that was actually the sound of her having her car accident. And shehas no memories of being Marrin.” He sighed heavily to himself “I know what you’re all thinking, but it really is her.” he opened the file “It’s not pretty what you’ll all see, be warned now.” he stated “You’ll understand when you see the photos why she doesn’t remember.” He told them and slid that that change of name and accident filed down the table towards his mother and father knowing showing them was likely the most important thing there was.

“Marilyn Riddley is actually Marrin, or she once was,” he murmured. “She changed her name after our divorce, but before the accident and never told anyone. She now lives in Bedford, Virginia, and…” he looked at his mother as she looked up at his pause “She has two sons,” he stated, and all eyes at the table were on him

now.

“Twin sons,” he nodded. “They are seven; Callum and Vincent are their names, or they go by Cal and Vin. The

boys are who I’m texting every night,” he told them truthfully.

“You’re certain son, they are yours?” his father asked.

“Yes,” Calvin nodded. “DNA tests have been run, it proves not only that I am their father, but that Marilyn is their mother. Which also proves Marilyn is Marrin. I never strayed inside my marriage.” He took out the photo that Marilyn had given him at the last meeting and slid it across the table, for them all to see the boys themselves. “I have been, or mostly Wil has been helping me to try and resolve the issue that I caused with Marilyn, when she was here.”

“I told you it was her,” his mother muttered as she looked at that photo of the twins.

“And you put her in the hospital, son!” his father frowned deeply at him.

Chapter 109 1

“Yes, often, I fell in love with her, and I wanted a real marriage,” he raised a hand to he Please calm down, the divorce was only done to get rid of the contract marriage, so we could, in fact, get married properly, only.” He sighed now. “I managed to screw that up, the way I wanted to do it. A grand gesture that showed her I loved her. I had a full month long vacation planned for her and I in Italy, only I never told her I was going to divorce her to really marry her. So, unfortunately, everything backfired and she left and changed her name. Thinking everything was actually over and we were done. She never got on the plane to Italy.”

“I’m well aware of that fact and I thought at the time I had,” he muttered. “It was very hard to live with, I stillhe shook his head, didn’t like thinking about that time in his life. He’d never actually forgotten how it felt to lose her.
