He could see that convincing Marilyn was going to take more than her marriage contract and divorce papers, so he was glad that he’d kept all the footage from eight years ago, because what was before him now was exactly what he’d hypothesized: that Marrin had been in a terrible accident and lost her memory; not that Calvin would believe him

She’d even seen the time she’d called Calvin, and he’d managed to line it up with the radio stations from the state of Virginia to show her she’d called Calvin the moment she knew about that plane crash or close enough to it.

“I believe Marilyn, you called Calvin the day of your accident to try and tell him you were alive, not on that plane. You were not a heartless, cruel or vicious woman. Just, I believe, heartbroken. Calvin never got that message until weeks later and the number was not traceable.

“Likely you had your new phone set to private, so the number wouldn’t register. Please, I’d like for you to watch all the footage on that USB. It’s just a copy of everything I have. You may keep it. I’d like for you to keep an open mind about why you left. It was not because Calvin was abusive to you in any way.”

This was all he could do for now, give her everything he had about them. T’m going to leave today and give you time to watch that,” he indicated to the USB. “Give you time to think about everything that has been said and seen here today. I’ll contact you in a month’s time, and we’ll discuss it further, what is going to happen

from then onwards.

“Please remember if you opt for rejecting all of this and dismissing it as hearsay, or not as proof. I will just give it all to Calvin, and we’ll officially request a DNA test of the twins through the courts, to prove they are

his children and things will go from there.

“Likely, we’ll see you in court if you refuse, and if you continue to deny everything, my client’s rights, it will

probably get very messy and very public. Because I will out all of this as you now see it, and you’ll get the backlash that he got over the time you were in Houston. Only this time your fans will see you’re the one that is mean, and denying him the rights to his children.

Wil held up a hand to both her and Liam to stop them from voicing objections or concerns. “I don’t want to do any of that, I would much rather this all be sorted out quietly, in a proper calm and considerate manner for all

of those involved, including the children. I’m certain we can find a way to come to a rational resolution that doesn’t involve the press or the courts,” he stated, and it was what he wanted regardless of the threats he

was making

“Rational resolution? With a man obsessed,” Liam stated, “I doubt that could ever happen.”

As long as Marilyn is cooperating, I will leave Calvin out of it until the restraining order is over. That way, Calvin has time to calm down and let everything go, and when I sit him down and tell him. I will lead with,

that he harmed you, Marilyn, who, it is now proven, beyond a doubt are in fact Marrin.” He sighed heavily. knowing it wasn’t going to go down so well.

“This, I believe, will see him change his attitude instantly, and he’ll become guilt–ridden and apologetic. His behaviour should return to that of the man that was married to Marrin. Not remain as a man obsessed, and

thinking everyone that looks like Marrin is out to trap him for his money. Which is his actual problem.”

“You hope,” Liam stated natly. “You can’t predict how he will react.”

“Hmm, not to the enth degree no. But I have known Calvin since high school, and he was fine up until those women that resembled Marrin started coming out of the woodwork, pretending to be his loving wife that had been missing. All of them told him they had amnesia and had just recovered their true identity. None, however, knew that he and Marrin were divorced. Easy to determine they weren’t Marrin, just trying to catch a billionaire for themselves.” Will explained Calvin’s obsession with women that looked like Marrin to them.

“Marilyn here, is actually his missing ex–wife, the woman that he loves, so that will give him closure about her, and see him settle. Relief will happen that he, or I, have finally found Marrin, and then, of course, the guilt over what he did and the knowledge of the twins will all come into play. Seeing him return to the Calvin, that Marrin once knew.”

“Again, you hope.” Liam sighed.

“Yes, but it’s best to do this my way, rather than to let Calvin just turn up out of the blue and again risk his obsession kicking in. Right now, he’s of the opinion that Marilyn is Marrin’s twin sister due to there being no birthmark on her. This has also started to see him calm down and start to let his obsession go.

“I understand your injuries are what removed the birthmark, all the scarring and surgical procedures. He’ll understand that when I show him your hospital photos. He’s seen all your scars down your side and on your legs.

“He’ll likely be calm about it, given a few months to let his obsession go. This is as close as he’s ever gotten to finding Marrin, and he’s not going to risk losing that connection. I also think pre empting it might help.”

“Mm, a plan pre–organised between you and I, your lawyer if you like. I need to figure out the actual best way to approach this. Something that will give Calvin what he wants in a round about way. I’m still not certain as

“Although if you, yourself, Marilyn could see to the truth of things and find a way that could see this happen, I’d actually appreciate the help. You plot and plan in your books all the time. So, you might just be the one to come up with the perfect plan.

“But something has to be done about all of this. The man is in a great deal of pain and I know you have no memories at all, but I can’t leave him like that, in agony and torment over Marrin. When I know, you were Marrin.” He sighed heavily. It was again the truth.

“From a court’s point of view, yes,” Wil nodded. “You both have the means to raise and support the children.

But if Calvin lays eyes upon them before knowing everything, he’ll likely get angry, and just think you kept them away from him on purpose, are faking this amnesia, and he’ll go back to being obsessive and probably Just come here and take them.

t’s very unlikely he’ll even get permission. Hin obsession will see it as a way to force your hand into telling him you are Marrin, and what he wants, deep down inside himself, beneath that obsession and what is actually driving it; is Marrin back in his life. He’s never truly let her go. That’s why the obsession exists. So, let me help you to stop that from happening by you working with me.”
