Calvin

He was watching Wil move about his office; it was unlike Wil to act this way. It was more of a Calvin thing. which made him frown as he watched his friend. It was pretty clear something had ticked Wil off and whatever it was, was either Calvin himself or something that Calvin needed to see.

The moment that printout was slid across the desk for him to see and read, and he did read it, who it was from Liam Stevens, though it had been written by Marilyn Riddley, and Liam had forwarded it on to Wil. He understood why his friend was ticked off.

It was his new charity booklet; somehow she’d managed to get a hold of it, and Marilyn was calling Wil a liar as well. His eyes moved towards Wil, and he did not mince his words, or even care that Calvin was on a business call. 7 guess I’m resigning.” Was grated out of his best friend of 24 years.

Then Wil just turned and walked from his office and banged the door shut. Wil was ticked off at Calvin himself. He sighed internally and excused himself from the call, ending it quite abruptly by stating there was a company emergency he needed to go and attend to, and got up from his desk. Wil had told him he would quit if Calvin didn’t adhere to his advice and leave Marilyn alone.

That booklet told Wil that he’d not left her alone at all, but he had only sent one of them to the school, to the principal and not for publication to the students, just to show him what they had discussed; the new charity that he was setting up, because the man couldn’t find it online yet.

Clearly, the principal had copied his booklet and then distributed it to the children of the school to take home to their parents. That could be the only way Marilyn had gotten her hands on it. She didn’t work at the school, he knew that. It was also likely that whatever Wil had been doing with Marilyn and her lawyer, or saying to

them.

Now made Wil out to be a liar in Marilyn’s eyes and Wil didn’t like that. Calvin headed for the man’s office even as he was trying to think of a way to fix this, and get Wil to stay put here in the company, as well as his friend and attorney, something right this very minute he didn’t know if he could do.

Calvin tracked Wil all the way to his office only to hear the man’s doop bang shunt, not unlike how his had been slammed a minute ago. It also wasn’t something Wil did. He was normally calm, cool and collected, very level–headed and 95% of the time able to just stare at Calvin with annoyance, sometimes disappointment, but rarely slammed doors.

Calvin saw Janine flinch and gasp at the display of anger, It had whipped her head around to Wil’s door, then Wil was right there once more telling Janine to get him packing boxes he was resigning. He looked right at Calvin and just banged back into his office uncaring that he’d heard him.

Janine looked from the closed door to Calvin, worriedly she knew that Wil had been here since Calvin had opened this company. The man was a major shareholder, retained 30% of them while Calvin held 51 percent; the other 19% was distributed to the public, bought and sold by whoever wanted to own shares in the

company.

“Don’t do that, Janine,” he told her as he walked to Wil’s door. “I royally ticked him off, it will be fine. I’ll sort it out,” he stated, and she nodded to him as he pushed open Wil’s door and then stepped inside.

It had barely been half a minute since Wil had come into his office and he was already pulling law books off a shelf and stacking them on his deak. “Calm down, Wil.” Calvin stated “I have breached nothing at all. I’ve also not gone near Marilyn once.”

“Bullshit.” Wil grated out and yanked more books from the shelf and banged them onto his desk.

t’s not. I’ve been here all this time,” Calvin told him calmly. “You know this yourself. I’ve been working with Kelly closely, all last week, and before that attending business as usual.”

Wil turned and looked right at him. “Yes, I know, so who did you send Calvin? To track Marilyn down, and I dare say you’re keeping an eye on her. Regardless that you’re here, and now she herself knows this. That is a breach of your contract with her, to have her drop the charges against you. She agreed to that on the condition you left her alone. Which you clearly haven’t.” Wil grated out at him. “I warned you, Calvin, that I would quit.. I also bloody told you what I was doing, what my end game was even. So, you’d stay away from her, yet still you went and had someone else stalk that woman, didn’t you?” Wil demanded.

Calvin sighed out loud this time. “Yes,” he admitted. “You were up to something, where she was concerned and weren’t willing to tell me the truth, so… I did what I had to, to find out was all.”

Wil stood glaring at him. “Well Calvin, Liam informed me your charges will all be reinstated, and you’re going to wind up in court. All it will take is Marilyn to say yes to that when Liam brings it up to her this afternoon.”

“The twin boys she has, they are mine.” Calvin stated simply. “They are seven, have black hair and green eyes, just like I do.”

“Hmm, in a court that will be circumstantial evidence at best. You’re just making an assumption they’re yours because of their hair and eye colour. That is not solid proof.” Wil refute him instantly.

“Oh, come on Wil, look at her, look at the boys and their age.”

Chapter 74 1

He watched Wil half smile at him, Though it wasn’t friendly by any means, Wil was in courtroom mode, Calvin realised. “If she’s willing to have, them tested, or I as the judge, see a fit reason to order it to be done.” Wil shot right back. “And that is not going to see her drop the charges, it is not a defense of why you sent someone to stalk her or her children either.” Wil shook his head

have. I also would like you to present to me the reason you believe Marilyn will not give her lawyers the go ahead to reinstate the charges against you once more.” Wil held his hand out to him, as if Calvin had it on him and wanted him to hand it over.

Your words, Calvin, will mean nothing to a judge or her lawyers. You may say whatever you like, but without evidence to back it up” he shook his head “Something you can’t possibly go and get or have anyone get, because no one knows where she actually lives other than the state, because it’s not public knowledge, and you’re also not allowed near the woman so…” again he demanded answers from Calvin.
