Rin

She leaned herself back on the wall in that stairwell and looked up at him. He was impossibly tall at six-four, she thought absently, as she stared up at him. Thinking about those words, he didn’t want their divorce to be public knowledge. She wondered absently how he thought he was going to keep it a secret and not announce it at all?

She couldn’t understand his logic right at that very minute. Wil had filed those papers today, to get the proceeds underway. It was also going to come out when she stopped being on his arm, attending the events he had lined up for the next six weeks. There were three she was supposed to attend with him, that were marked on her calendar.

But he would also just call her out of the blue and tell her he needed her to go to dinner with him and a client, someone she was better equipped to handle due to her programming skills. She could talk the lingo, so to speak. He was going to have to find someone else to fill that role. Or maybe he already had. She didn’t know.

“I only came because we had already accepted the invitation months ago, RSVP'd both of us would be attending. If I didn’t turn up, how would it look? I guess though, I should just be happy that you didn’t bring someone else with you, and embarrass me by having another woman on your arm,” she stated with a shrug.

He was frowning down at her now. “Do you really think I would do that?”

Did she? Yes, she recalled his words to Wil that day. He would get a divorce when he found Mrs Right, so by that deduction, his words the other day, about there would be no baby, and now a divorce, he probably had done that. “It’s bound to happen.” She shrugged it off once more, “save yourself the hassle of this awkwardness happening again Calvin, and send me an email tomorrow, of the events you don’t want me to attend in the next six weeks. So, I won’t be there when you’re not expecting it, and we don't have to play this charade again in front of your friends or business acquaintances.”

She saw his jaw tick and smiled just a little. He’d not thought about those when he’d done this. He probably should have looked at his calendar and scheduled their divorce accordingly, to when he had no functions to attend, or functions he’d yet responded to, so he could decline to attend, or state only he was attending, therefore negating his need to be seen with him on his arm.

“It’s a bit more difficult than you thought, isn’t it, to get this quick and quiet divorce you want.” She nodded as he remained silent, “I’m not going to harass you, or make it difficult for you, Calvin. I’m just stating the facts. There are, from my recollection, three events in the next six weeks I’m supposed to attend with you, one a charity gala which features a dance competition. I suggest you make other arrangements.” She stepped around him. “I’m not yours anymore.”

“You are still mine, Rin.” He yanked her around to face him. His hazel-green eyes were locked on to hers, and she watched them start to become more green than brown as she stared up at him, as he pressed her back against the wall, “The divorce doesn’t settle for six weeks, and even then.” His whole body was against hers, his mouth on her ear “You’ll still be mine, Rin.” His voice was suddenly all husky, and deep and dark like his eyes had been, started to show signs of desire.

She knew what that looked like, sounded like. His mouth was on her neck a moment later kissing it deeply, right below her ear. The one place he knew turned her on quickly, could be used to seduce her in just minutes, and she gasped and tried to shove him away. He was much larger and stronger than she was. His hand was under her dress and, before she knew it, he was pulling her panties aside and touching her intimately.
