Marilyn

She waited on showing that phone to the boys, until she saw movement from that hotel, both Calvin and Wil together, before she called them to the lounge to sit with her for a chat. As much as she knew, having this phone inside her home meant that Calvin knew exactly where she was; he had found that out anyway.

If he’d not known her address, she would never have agreed to this at all. Just seen it as a way for him to find her home. But he did know, so what was the point in saying no? And this way, she got to track him as well. Know where he was, if he was coming for her and the boys; supposing he didn’t just put it in his house and by a new phone himself.

She didn’t think that he would, seeing as she’d told him the boys would have access to it. If he couldn’t abide by the rules of this app and the contract, even for the boys, he’d never see them in person. She’d could hire an RV and live on the road constantly moving just to piss him off.

She pushed her doubts about him aside and opened that phone to the large screen and saw them smile at it, and then turned it over. She let them play with it open and close it, and they did; they liked it as well, she

could tell.

She pointed out the app. It was purple, and they nodded, and she touched it so it would open, and it showed both Calvin and Wil’s pictures moving about. “I had a meeting today with… Mr Reeves and his lawyer.” She pointed to each of their pictures and they both looked up at her after a moment “Now you both know he’s not allowed near me, since what happened in Texas.” She stated simply, and they nodded “But he also now knows about you, and that he’s your father. Who I once was.” She sighed a little, couldn’t stop that from escaping her.

“His lawyer came up with this idea. It’s a live tracking app, so what you’re seeing is he and his lawyer heading for the airport right now.”

“He didn’t want to come and see us?” Cal asked/sounding a bit on the disappointed side to her.

“He’s not allowed to until December,” she reminded them. “This phone and app, is so you can see where he is at all times. He’s got your picture on his side of the app.” She told them “He does want to see you and get to know you. Just with all that’s going on, all he’s done, he can’t.”

She watched them nod and this seemed to lift their spirits a little to know that it wasn’t because he didn’t want to see them. “Now boys, there are some rules to go along with this phone, rules I’m going to tell you and expect you to follow. So please listen carefully and do as I say, or I will take it away. Do you understand that?

They both nodded to indicate yes, “This phone is yours to check anytime you like. It, however, is not for you to make calls from or take calls on. He.. Calvin will get the bill, he is paying for it. It will also stay here inside this house at all times, you cannot take it to school or on outings with you.”

“Why?” Vin asked.

“Technically, this phone is for me, because Calvin breached the restraining order I have against him, and I

at lasts for 12 months. could if I wanted to reinstate all the charges against him, and get a new o.. Including the two of you this time as well, not just myself.” she sighed at their look of what she could only surmise was we don’t want that.’

She nodded at them, “I haven’t, but he sent someone to track me down out here and got pictures of you two tracked down where you went to school and has the home address now. All the things he wasn’t allowed to do. I didn’t ask what else he did but…” she sighed heavily. She could well imagine there was a lot more to it She had an active imagination.

“So this phone app is how I’m allowed to keep track of him now, as proof he’s not breaching it again. If he

doesn’t, I won’t ask him to stay away from you two or myself again. That was the deal we struck today. She told them honestly.

“He doesn’t want that, but how can I trust him after all he did, and then even breached a court order.” She shook her head a little sadly, the man was likely going to ruin his chance to be a father.

“This phone, however, is a two–way thing. If It moves he will know about it. So it stays in the house. I don’t want him knowing my every move or yours either. Understood.”

“Yes.” They both answered her.

“Good, now I thought right here on the coffee table was a good place for it to stay, easily seen, and you can reach it.” she told them “I’ll be checking it once or twice a day, you can check it as often as you like.” she

smiled at them just a little.

“When we’re at school?” Vin asked.

“It’ll be here in the house or…” she sighed. She was in her writing studio when they were at school. She didn’t know if it would pick up her moving over there. “My studio with me, but you can have it when you’re home,”

She told them.

“When we’re all sleeping?” Cal asked her now.

She sighed a little more on the heavy side than she thought she would, and both the boys looked at her, and she waved it off. Their lives were about to change a lot. There was no stopping it. “I suppose you can take it upstairs at night when you turn in.” she had a feeling it was what he wanted.

They were both frowning at her, because they knew he was their father, and they wanted to get to know him. She could see it, she’d seen their curiosity even back in Houston. “He’s not allowed to text or call this phone other than for scheduling purposes, and I’d like to keep it that way as well for now. At least until the restraining order is over and then he and I will have a new meeting to discuss where things will go from there. “You will eventually get to meet him, when he can show me he can abide by the law and do as he’s told, I guess you could say.She stated simply. “What happens when you two de mething you’re not supposed to?

“That’s right, Calvin did more than one thing he shouldn’t have, and the law tried to punish him, but he didn’t

care about that, ignored the punishment dished out to him. So now I will do it. Punish him myself, because boys, someone has to make him realise that what he did was wrong.

Do you understand that? I’m not out to stop you from seeing him or him you deliberately. I’m currently just making him serve his court–ordered punishment. To prove he’s learned his lesson, and then you can all meet and get to know each other.”

They nodded slowly up at her. “Good, now go and play. I’m not sure how long it will be before you see his plane take off on that app, but you’ll get to see where he flies too.”

“His plane?” Vin asked now.

“Mm, I hear he has a private jet that he travels on. I’m certain he used it to get out here from Texas.

She nearly rolled her eyes, just shook her head and got up, walked away from them, left them there sitting with the phone and the app running. They’d gone from worry to happy curiosity in the blink of an eye over a plane. That likely one day they would be able to go on, and she knew that was what they were thinking.
