Chapter 209
Dorothy was very upset when she unexpectedly ran into Melanie. She would never forget what Julian did to the Gibson family. Even if a long time had passed since then, she was still riled up when she saw one of the Zieglers.
In fact, she was so angry that she accidentally pricked her finger on the edge of the metal display rack. Blood immediately gushed out and dropped to the floor.
Dorothy quickly took pieces of tissue and put pressure on her finger. She even pulled out her hemostatic medication and popped it into her mouth, deathly afraid that something bad might happen
There was a good reason for her to be this careful. She was Rh–negative, which was a rare blood type.
Melanie had been friends with Dorothy for many years. Naturally, she knew about it as well.
Neither of them could stand each other, and Dorothy was injured too. So, she hurried out of the baby shop.
Once they had gone far away, it suddenly occurred to Melanie that Willow was Rh–negative too, and the latter would go into labor in half a month.
Ladies literally risk their lives as they give birth to kids. Anything could’ve happened, and Melanie wondered if the Chapmans prepared the right blood for it.
A subtle unease gnawed at her heart, but she forgot about it once she was done buying Landon’s clothes.
Once she got back to the Ziegler residence, she showed Liam her purchases. For once, he showed approval. After he felt the clothes, he praised her for having good taste, which filled her heart with pride.
After Melanie folded and kept away the clothes, she said, “I’m going to wash them with my own hands and stick them in the dryer. That way, it’ll be very comfortable when Landon puts it on, and he won’t have an allergic reaction either.
“Sellers these days never make it clear. So, it falls to us adults to be careful and meticulous.”
Liam watched as Melanie bustled around. She seemed so much more graceful and virtuous that a warmth stirred in his ch Walking over to her side, he ran his fingers across the clothes and spoke again.
“Willow is pregnant with twins. That’s two kids, but you only bought enough clothes for one.”
Melanie couldn’t believe what she just heard. “Twin
Liam nodded and gently placed his hands on her shoulders. “Willow has been through a lot with the twins. Think about what happened that night. For that tragedy alone, the Ziegler family owes her for the rest of her life.”
They had been married for years. Naturally, Melanie knew him very well. She asked softly, “Liam, what are you trying to say?”
Liam fell silent for a while before he responded, “Julian and I talked about it, and we decided to surrender the twins to Willow. It’s up to her and destiny if she will even let us carry them in our arms.”
Melanie was dumbstruck. “Are you saying that I can’t even hold my grandson?”
He sighed gently.
She was dazed for a long time before she clenched her fists and hammered his chest. Tears were flowing as she shouted, “Liam, you jerk! I finally have a grandson, and you gave him away without a fight.
The twins are Julian’s children! We are their grandparents!”
Liam sighed again. “Madam Harper died because of Julian. Willow can never move on from something like that.”
Melanie was dazed for a long time. Gripping the clothes, she said softly, “I’ll buy some pink clothes for the baby girl tomorrow.
