After a pause, she pretended to be confused and said, “I wonder if you will hold a wedding? Even if you won’t register, Mr. Franco should at least give you a wedding” 

Then, she looked down at Kamryn’s fingers and asked, “Why don’t you wear your wedding ring?” 

Kamryn lowered her head and expressionlessly looked at her fingers. 

Florence ventured, “Didn’t Mr. Franco give you the diamond ring?” 

Kamryn remained silent. Charlie had never mentioned the diamond ring to her. And she did not care about such things. But Florence’s provocative tone made her uncomfortable. 

“It doesn’t matter whether I have a diamond ring. Charlie has done a lot for me, so I don’t care about those superficial things” Kamryn thought, ‘I have never thought about having a hidden marriage before. I once believed I must have a wedding to tell everyone about my marriage. But Charlie is special. Although he does not declare our marriage to the public, I do not feel aggrieved. I know he loves me. His love is priceless. I have more sense of security than those housewives who do not have their husbands‘ love. After all, Charlie’s doting on me is as plain as daylight. I will not doubt my husband because of a stranger’s provocation. I am not a fool.” 

Florence retorted, “How can you think a diamond ring is superficial?” 

Kamryn smiled. Before she could speak, Florence added, “I saw Mr. Franco buy a diamond ring worth tens of millions a few days ago! And I helped him choose. I thought it was for you. Hasn’t he given it to you? Maybe he wants to give you a surprise!” 

Kamryn thought, ‘Has Charlie bought a diamond ring? He has never mentioned it or given me any implication. He acts as usual as if nothing has happened. 

She knew Florence had mentioned it to sow discord so she would not fall in her trap. Instead, she calmly said, “Yeah, maybe he wants to give me a surprise!” 

“Really? Mr. Franco is romantic!” 

Florence’s smile was hypocritical and seemingly harmless. But her words had obvious evil intention when she said, “Being Mr. Franco’s wife must be tiring. You are having a hidden marriage, so you need to be wary! Mr. Franco has not made your relationship public, so the women outside all think he is single. They may throw themselves on him!
