Kamryn suddenly felt pity for Nicole, but her heart was warm. 

She blurted out, “Would you really abort your own kid?” 

Charlie pulled her onto his lap, his long fingers tracing her lips, lightly pressing and caressing them. He looked into her eyes tenderly and then leaned in, softly kissing the corner of her mouth. 

Her mouth opened slightly, letting out a cute sound. Then she nipped at his finger, her teeth brushing his skin with a light bite like a kitten’s. 

He felt a surge of heat in his lower body as he watched her take his finger into her mouth, a delicate and sensual gesture that made him get some sordid images in his head. 

Kamryn teased him, “Next time, watch out of your turf and don’t stir any more trouble like that 

She realized too late that her words sounded like a double entendre. Her face turned red 

She thought, ‘Why did I say something so flirty? It must be because he has rubbed off on me over time. 

Charlie was amused and nodded, saying, “Okay, I promise to stick to my own turf and not cause any more trouble.” 

Then he leaned in and kissed her lips. 

After a hot and long kiss, he held the back of her neck, his lips grazing the corner of her mouth, breathing out a sexy whisper, “My child can only have one mother.” 

Kamryn’s eyes widened, as if a warm wave washed over her heart. 

He kissed her lightly and repeated, “My child can only have one mother. Only you” 

Kamryn was deeply touched. 

She smiled warmly and hugged Charlie, her heart full of love. Overcome by her feelings, she blurted out, “Do you know! I’m actually jealous of Nicole. I wish I could have been with you during the best years of your life. I’ve always wondered why fate. can be so cruel! Why didn’t I meet you sooner? If I had met you earlier, it would have been amazing”

stunned for moment, then laughed softly, looking at her with affection. He gently tucked her hair behind her ear, saying tenderly, “Silly” 

Kamryn 

remained silent and cuddled up to him, feeling his love. 

Suddenly, he murmured in her ear, “We met at the right time.” 

“What?” 

“I wish I met you a little later, so I I could spend the rest of my life with you.” 

Kamryn’s eyes widened. 

She didn’t expect Charlie to say something so sweet. 

Maybe this was the most romantic thing he had ever said to her. 

She couldn’t hold back her emotions; she clung to him, grabbing his collar, her eyes tearing up. 

“Kamryn, you have the best version of me. 

With that, he lifted her up in his arms and slowly walked into the bedroom.

She sobbed, fishing for his sympathy.

“At the downtown cafe, the one where I treated you once, I’ll wait for you in a private room. 

Nicole hoped he’d materialize in front of her any second. 

Charlie agreed and hung up, and as he set the phone down, Kamryn walked into the room. She noticed the phone drop and caught wind of his conversation from the bathroom 

She suspected it was Nicole’s call and hit the scene with her hair still wet and on high alert. 

Charlie chuckled at her spy–level vigilance. 

He thought, “What an idiot! She’s still cautious.” 

Kamryn cleared her throat, playing it cool, asking. “Who’s ringing you up at this ungodly hour?” 

Charlie glanced at her and said calmly, “Nicole.” 

“Hmph, I figured as much; I didn’t even need to guess.” 

“Then why bother asking if you already knew?” 

Kamryn pouted, shooting him a look. 

|| She was worried he would secretly meet up with Nicole. 

It wasn’t that she didn’t trust him, but she just wanted them to tackle stuff together. 

Back in the day, he kept everything under wraps.
