Charlie thought, “Family scandals can’t be exposed, and that sneaky and sly old man, Zackery, must have some demands to make with me. 

Zackery glanced at him and felt surprised inside. 

He thought. “This kid wants to marry some random woman with such a sketchy past. This is out of the blue” 

But at this moment, he looked at the man in front of him, who seemed relaxed and easygoing, lazily leaning against the window. Even in the dark, he could still sense the aura of power coming from Charlie. 

He casually asked, “When do you plan to get married?”

Charlie chuckled and said. “Mr. Duarte, do we really need these chit–chats? Just say it directly 

Zackery was stunned a bit. Since Charlie was the first to drop the act, he decided to skip the chit–chats and get to the point, saying. “My daughter ended like this because of you. Regarding this matter, she and you shared equal blame. However, I am a fair person. She brought this on herself, and she has to face the consequences. But Charlie wasn’t falling for it. 

He coldly smiled and said, “Zackery, don’t think that a few fancy words can scare me. What do you mean by sharing equal blame! She made her choice, and it has nothing to do with me. Don’t act like you are showing mercy to me and pretending to be noble. Let me give you a warning. Don’t try to act high and mighty. Your daughter’s current state is not my doing. To be honest, her actions have bothered me as well. In the past, I used to find her cute and nice, but now, she makes me sick.” 

His words served as a reality check for Zackery.

Then he suddenly made a request, saying, “Charlie, there’s something you have to promise me. No matter what Nicole has done to bug you. I’ll keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn’t pull any more dumb moves from now on. But, given what happened today, I can’t let Nicole’s scandal hang out in public. Keep the fact that she was pregnant out of wedlock and went overseas for artificial insemination on the down–low for now. Don’t let it slip. I hope you’ll keep it to yourself until I figure out

Charlie had already expected this request.

Since Charlie asked for a catch, then there would be room for negotiation. Zackery thought it would be good if Charlie was willing to bargain. He just feared that Charlie would be stubborn and leave no room for compromise.

Charlie always had a crazy way of making people feel sick.

Zackery was stunned. 

He wondered, ‘How did he find out about this secret information?” 

In that moment of his confusion, Charlie went too far in demanding, saying, “You should have the right to decide the ownership of that land before the auction starts. So, I want that land.” 

“No way!” Zackery snapped back as soon as Charlie finished speaking, 

The land Charlie wanted was meant for building a five–star resort someday. It would be a gold mine once it was done. Zackery had the power to decide who got the land. But right now, even without any development, the land would sell for tens of millions of dollars at an auction. 

Charlie was asking for the land like he was trying to squeeze every last drop out of him.
