Zackery was infuriated and yelled, “My son was drunk and delirious. You should have brought him back to our home. You think I wouldn’t pay you for the wine? You injured my son severely and crippled his leg. I won’t let it gol” 

Wilson might never stand again and would be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. 

This was what hurt Zackery the most! 

He thought, “How can a disabled man in a wheelchair be the heir of an influential family? 

Wilson is my only son. I have devoted a lot of time, energy, and money to his upbringing. But his leg was broken during at dispute about wine worth only 2.2 million dollars. All of my hard work was ruined.‘ 

If it weren’t for his mental fortitude, he would have broken down. 

He believed that the 22 million dollars was nothing compared with the leg of the heir of the Duarte family. 

As he was overwhelmed with fury, the manager continued, “We did nothing more than teach your son a lesson and throw him out. We didn’t cripple his leg. Mr. Duarte, don’t accuse us of anything we didn’t do.” 

Zackery didn’t believe a word of it and firmly believed that it was Pleasure Point that crippled Wilson’s leg. 

But the manager was not someone to be trifled with. He right away sent the surveillance video and recording of Wilson’s beating from last night. 

The video was shot up close with a high–resolution camera. It captured Wilson not paying his bill and being attacked and thrown out of the club. The conversation was also clearly recorded. 

The evidence and truth were right in front of Zackery. 

Embarrassed, he blushed deeply and was speechless for quite some time. 

The video showed that the Pleasure Point employees beat Wilson, causing bruises on his face, but they did not hit his head or purposely cripple his leg. 

The video stopped when they kicked Wilson out the club’s back door. Wilson was the only one who knew what happened next. 

The dark alley behind the club’s back door was usually empty, and there were no security cameras installed. 

Zackery sent people to investigate it, but they found nothing, so he was left with no choice but to ask Wilson once he regained 

consciousness. 

Nicole and Rose found out later that Wilson had arranged a secret meeting at the club with a person whom he would request to avenge Nicole by teaching Charlie a lesson. However, something unexpected occurred, and Wilson got into a conflict with the club staff, resulting in a severe beating. 

Nicole felt remorseful after hearing that. 

If it wasn’t for her, her brother and parents would not have had such a bad outcome. 

Rose, who was heating up the conger, rushed to Nicole upon hearing her surprise cry, When she saw her son was awake, she broke down in tears. 

“Wilson, thank God, you’re finally awake!” 

Wilson was confused for a brief time. 

After a while, he finally realized where he was, and his eyes suddenly turned cold.

Wilson stared at her expressionlessly for a moment, but his icy gaze grew colder and colder. Abruptly, he took his hand from hers and turned away, appearing frigid. 

Nicole was stunned. 

Wilson had never treated her like this before. 

He loved her since she was little and treated her better than anyone else. 

But right now, he seemed very cold and she panicked. 

“Wilson… are you okay?” 

“Don’t touch me.” 

Wilson turned around in anger, despite the difficulty of every movement resulting from his current physical state. 

He appeared unwilling to see her and refused to speak. 

Seeing his indifferent look, Nicole felt a burst of pain in her heart and pulled her hand away with embarrassment. 

Her eyes turned misty as she sobbed, staring at his back, “Wilson, are you angry with me?”

Scared, she rushed over and tried to cover his mouth, but hesitated due to his injury. She only managed to console him, “You’re hurt badly. Don’t movel Rest and let me know what you need. Okay? Don’t say anything silly!” 

Wilson clenched his teeth to control his anger. He breathed deeply and eventually collected himself.
