Chapter 295 

“You don’t have to apologize. Even if it was intentional, it doesn’t matter,” said Charlie. 

Stunned, Kamryn turned around and looked at him. 

Charlie lowered his gaze and met her eyes. He suddenly chuckled. 

He gently pinched her chin, leaned over, and planted a light kiss on her lips before saying, “No matter what you want to do, just do it. You never have to apologize to me.” 

His tone was flat, but his words were powerful. 

Kamryn looked at him blankly and did not even respond to his kiss. 

Because his kiss was gentle and loving, unlike those hot and forceful ones. 

This kiss made her feel comforted rather than aroused, bringing her peace without any romantic thoughts. 

As she gazed into his eyes, she suddenly realized that perhaps all the hardships she had faced in the past were simply building up to her good fortune. 

And her good fortune led her to be with the best man in the world. 

The best thing that had ever happened to her was meeting Charlie. 

She smiled and said, “Do you know that…” 

“What?” 

“I love you very much!” 

Charlie was stunned at first. Then he raised his eyebrows and asked, “Why are suddenly so sweet?” 

She was not a person who was at ease with words of affection for him. 

She blinked and asked, “You have a problem with it?” 

He looked at her thoughtfully with a helpless expression and said lightly, “If you really like that dog, you can keep it.” 

He believed that she had said that to keep the puppy. 

Kamryn was stunned for a moment. When she understood what he meant, she turned around and threw herself into his arms, saying loudly and happily, “Really!! Charlie, you’re the best!” 

The sound of water splashing was heard. 

The bathtub water overflowed due to her movement and covered the whole bathroom floor. 

Charlie’s face was livid. 

The tub was really slippery. He was scared she might fall, so he quickly held her and scolded, “Don’t move!” 

She giggled and snuggled up in his arms, gazing at him with her shining eyes like the pup, which he found silly. 

He touched her nose and said seriously. “Don’t get too excited yet. I have some requirements.” 

“Go ahead. I promise to meet each of them. 

She was very cooperative, nodding without hesitation. 

She knew how serious his germ phobia was and how fragile Eugene’s health was and thought it was really thoughtful of him to allow her to keep the puppy 

She told herself that she would not oppose any requests he made. 

But when Charlie presented his requests, she became upset.

Chapter 295 

His requests were quite simple. 

First, she could keep the puppy at home, but it could only stay on the balcony on the second floor’s west side, and it could never get out of the balcony, not even one step. 

He planned to have workers fix the balcony and add railings and glass windows. Only the servants would be allowed to go inside to feed the puppy. Kamryn and Eugene couldn’t play with and touch the puppy on the balcony but instead should observe it through the glass windows. 

The puppy needed a full check–up every week. If any illness was found, it must be taken to the hospital for treatment. It couldn’t be picked up until it was completely healed. 

Apart from that, she had to make sure that there was not a single strand of the dog’s hair to be seen at home. 

There should be no smell in the house, including the odor of dog waste or the dog’s scent. 

If he noticed any violation of his requests, he would send the puppy away. There would be no room for debate! 

His point was to stop her and Eugene from seeing the dog while he was around and from touching the dog and absorbing its 

scent 

“Your requests are ridiculous!” Kamryn shouted, upset. “Why are you so heartless? You’re the puppy’s father now. Can’t you 

treat it better?!” 

Charlie snorted, glanced sideways at her, and said with a cold, proud face, “Sorry, but I’m a human being, so it’s impossible that a dog is my son.” 

Kamryn was rendered speechless. 

Charlie said again, “There’s a reason why you and Eugene can’t be near the dog” 

He was not really cruel enough to prevent them from playing with the dog. 

He requested that because he heard that many pets had bacteria, some of which could even infect humans. 

She was pregnant, and Eugene had a weak, allergy–prone constitution that made him uncomfortable around some people, so he had to be cautious. 

After hearing his reason, she was dejected 

His words made sense. 

Even if she wasn’t worried about her health, she still had to think about Eugene and the baby growing inside her. She couldn’t afford to be reckless! 

Charlie felt a little satisfied as he saw that she was depressed and unable to retort. His thin lips curved into a happy smile. 

He washed her body slowly and then washed her long, soft, and thick hair with great care. Then he got out of the tub with her in his arms, used a bath towel to dry her body, and wrapped her long wet hair with a towel. Finally, she was allowed to put on a bathrobe 

He was being too gentle and she was quite comfortable. 

Standing under the heater in her robe, she felt sleepy and wanted to yawn.

She patted her cheeks to stay awake. Then she glanced over at Charlie, who was drying off, and asked flatteringly, “Hey, babe, how about we take the dog to the vet later! Give him a bath and get him vaccinated. You’ll feel safer:

We can go tomorrow. 

He slowly put down the bath towel, grabbed his bathrobe, and put it on. 

She felt worried but didn’t dare to pressure him. She asked tentatively, “Isn’t tomorrow too late? We have nothing to do tonight. Let’s go now!”

The puppy was so small and wet from the rain. It might get sick this very night and even die of illness! 

She would be relieved if the vet examined it.
