The police officer ordered Jenna to hang up the phone. “As long as we’re sure the bag is really at home, that’s enough!” 

Jenna hung up helplessly. Her face was burning with embarrassment. 

It was clear what Makena meant. 

The police officer asked, “Why did you lie about Kamryn stealing your bag when you knew it was at home?” 

“I didn’t!” 

Jenna began to excuse her behavior. “I didn’t call the police! She called the police herself!” 

The police officer sneered. “Of all the people on set, you suspected she had taken your bag. She called the police to prove her innocence. I don’t see what’s wrong with that!” 

Jenna looked anxiously at her agent, not knowing what to say. 

“Jenna doesn’t usually concern herself with such trifles,” Mareli said, “I’m usually the one who takes care of all this! It’s my fault for not figuring out the truth and blaming Kamryn wrongly. I’m sorry, but this has nothing to do with Jenna.” 

“It has nothing to do with her?” The police officer pointed at the statement. “She said that she suspected Kamryn had stolen her bag. That’s right there in the statement. Now we have proof that Kamryn’s bag was a gift to her. Do you know what you were doing? You were framing Kamryn! If Kamryn goes to sue you, you’ll have to pay!” 

Jenna broke out into a cold sweat. 

She wasn’t afraid Kamryn would sue her. She was just worried about what it would do to her reputation. 

When Mareli heard that, she was worried, too. She immediately walked toward Kamryn, without her previous haughty manner. She said politely, “Miss Ramsey, it’s all my fault. Please forgive me. I’ll make it up to you. What do you think?” 

She said that specifically for the police, but she whispered to Kamryn, “You don’t want to have a hard time on the set later, do you?” 

The police officer shouted, “What are you talking to her about?” 

“I’m pleading with her!” 

Kamryn raised an eyebrow. She knew that if she embarrassed Jenna in front of so many people, Jenna would certainly not let her off when they returned to the set.

Kamryn took a deep breath and said firmly, “My request is simple. Give me 4,000 dollars for my emotional damage. And I want a serious apology from Jenna in front of the entire crew!”
