Chapter 48 

Early the next morning. Kamryn went to see Dante.. 

Instead of dressing up, Kamryn just shaped her eyebrows and applied eyeliner. She wore little makeup, but she looked quiet and sweet at first glance, and if you looked closely, you would find she was breathtakingly beautiful. 

Dante couldn’t help finding Kamryn dazzling. 

He didn’t think she was wearing much makeup, but she looked different than usual! 

With little makeup, her features became more delicate and chiseled. 

“You know, if you had some connections and got a role, you 

wouldn’t be any worse than Jenna!” 

Dante sighed. Looking at Kamryn’s pretty face, he softened a little. 

But there was nothing he could do. After all, Kamryn had offended Jenna.. 

Dante said half–jokingly, “What a pity you were born into the wrong family. If you had a better origin, you’d be a big 

star, too!” 

Kamryn smiled. “Thank you for your compliment. When do I start working? What is it about?” 

“Have you ever seen any films about the royal family!” 

“Yes, of course.” 

“All you need to do is take off your clothes and shower. 

“Is it that simple?” 

“Yes! Easy money, huh?” 

Kamryn was still worried. “Do I have to do a nude scene? I can’t do it if that’s the case.” 

“All they need is your bare back. They have safety precautions. Don’t be afraid!” 

Kamryn believed Dante. 

She went to the dressing room and changed into backless all–in–one underwear with straps and a strapless gown. The wardrobe attendant gave her a blanket shawl. After all, it was a long way from the dressing room to the set. 

Kamryn followed the stage manager to the set and saw a large pool there. From a distance, she saw that the pool was full of smoke, but when she looked closer, she found that it was not steam but dry ice. 

Urged by the stage manager, she hurried into the water. She almost drowned in the pool because she didn’t realize the water was that deep. 

There was a burst of laughter on the set. 

“Hahahahaha!* 

“This walk–on is terrible!” 

“It’d be fun if she drowned 

The water was up to Kamryn’s waist. She shivered with cold 

“The water is so cold! 

“It feels like ice.

“No wonder many actresses get themselves stand–ins. Most actresses don’t go into cold water like this,” Kamryn thought 

She could not help feeling aggrieved because Dante had not told tell her that the conditions would be so bad! 

But on second thought, she didn’t think she had any right to be choosy in her present situation! 

At least she could make 2,000 dollars a day. She couldn’t expect her job to be easy. 

“Where’s the actress? Hurry into your place!” 

The double is in place! Assistant director, please tell her how to act.” 

Soon, the assistant director came over. However, when Kamryn saw who it was, she had a sense of foreboding that something bad was going to happen. 

“Why would it have to be him of all people?! 

“Isn’t he the assistant director of Enchanting Beaury? 

Jenna’s playing the lead role in ‘Enchanting Beauty‘ 

“Am I gonna play a part in it?” Kamryn wondered. 

The assistant director squatted down by the pool, looking Kamryn up and down as if he wanted to see through her. Fear seized Kamryn the moment she saw the lewd look in his eyes. 

It was like he was gonna pounce on her and eat her alive the next second! 

“Your underwear isn’t revealing enough!” 

The assistant director stroked his chin and suddenly said, “Why don’t you take it off? I’ve never seen a woman shower in her underwear.” 

“You want me nude?“ 

Kamryn’s eyes widened in shock. 

“I can’t do it!” 

“Hey, you’re not an actress. You’re nothing but a double, and you’re paid to do this. Just take it off. I’m the boss!” 

Kamryn laughed angrily. “Yes, I am a double. But I’m not gonna do anything unreasonable, okay?” 

The assistant director said sarcastically. “I’m glad you know who you are! How dare you expect to be treated like a star? Stars hire stand–ins to do scenes they don’t want to. Can you afford a stand–in?” 

Kamryn was at a loss for words. 

It was true that stand–ins were at the bottom of the showbiz ladder and had always been looked down upon, but Kamryn didn’t think she had to stoop so low as to do nude scenes. 

“I’m not gonna do it.” 

“It’s not up to you. Your boss signed a contract with us! If you don’t want to do it, you have to pay for the delay” 

How much?” 

’20 thousand dollars.”

Kamryn thought it was an insult to her intelligence. “You’re demanding an exorbitant price!”
