Chapter 52 

The door of the ward suddenly opened. 

Charlie came in with a food bag. The nurse heard the sound and turned around. Seeing it was Charlie, she immediately stood up trembling, nodded, and said, “Mr. Franco, Miss Ramsey has finished her drip and she’s awake now. Have you bought the food you wanted?” 

“And what’s that?” 

“I don’t know what she likes, so I bought both duck and chicken.” 

“Well, as long as it’s not seafood.” 

The nurse said, I’ll go out first,” 

She sensibly exited. 

Charlie closed the door, walked to the bedside, and put the food on the table. 

Delicious smells wafted over to Kamryn and aroused her appetite. 

As if responding to her hunger, her stomach grumbled. 

Charlie had changed into a loose trench coat Alan bought in a mall by the hospital. Maybe because he was jacked, the whole room seemed cramped with him there. 

“Eat now?” 

“Yes…” 

Though feeling starving, Kamryn still kept her cool for the sake of her image. 

Charlie seemed to have seen through her struggle. As he opened the bag and laid out two portions of food, he asked. “Duck or chicken?” 

Kamryn licked her pale lips and answered expectantly, “Duck.” 

Charlie nodded and wiped his hands with a disinfectant tissue. Then, he lifted the lid of the duck and whipped out a small bowl from nowhere. He poured half of the duck into the small bowl, stirred it carefully with a spoon, and sprinkled some packaged onions and beef slices on it. 

Kamryn hurriedly reminded him. “I don’t eat beef…” 

“You have to eat. Charlie frowned. “Don’t be picky about food.” 

“Ooff” 

She protested in whispers, and Charlie slid her a sideways glance. She immediately shrank her neck and admitted 

feat. 

As he stirred it carefully, he blew onto the food. Although it was a takeaway, it was still hot. 

She stared blankly at his hand. Only then did she realize that his hand was way too pretty! 

It was fair and slender. No matter what he did, it looked stunning. 

She felt satisfied by simply watching him stirring. 

Charlie served a spoonful to her lips. Kamryn opened her mouth and tasted it. It was neither hot nor cold. When she felt the warm food down her throat, she turned refreshed again! 

Chapter 32 

It was so delicious!! 

Kamryn’s eyes lit up as she looked at Charlie in disbelief. As she chewed, she mumbled, “This is so good. I’ve never tasted meat so yummy!” 

Charlie was a little surprised by her “fuss“. That was nothing but a random snack he bought on the street. How could she praise it so much? 

Did the fever affect her tongue? 

Kamryn pointed to the bowl and urged him. “Have a taste. It’s really good!” 

He grew a little suspicious seeing her overreaction so he had a sip and thought it was just so–so. 

However, under her expectant gaze, he couldn’t bring himself to let her down. He nodded and said instead. “It tastes good!” 

“Right!” 

Charlie sighed in his heart and asked, “What do you usually eat?” 

“I bought groceries and cooked myself.” 

“Buy groceries?” 

Kamryn thought for a moment and told him the truth. I usually go to the market and choose those…. Oh, you won’t understand.” 

In fact, there was nothing to say about it. Maybe the things she found natural would sound like a complaint to others.. 

She would buy vegetables and meat that others didn’t want at a low price. Though they weren’t that tasty, they were really cheap. 

Though it was a hard life, she managed to hone her cooking skills as well 

She collected all kinds of recipes every day so in the end, she could make a good meal even with produce not so premium. 

For so many years, she had relied on that iron will to survive. 

She didn’t finish her sentence, but Charlie could vaguely tell that the past she had skipped might be very sad. 

“Speaking of which, I must invite you and Eugene to try my cooking in the future. It’s good. 

“You’re flattering yourself.” 

“No, it’s really delicious! Besides, I’ve never cooked for anyone else…” 

As Kamryn spoke, she saw the spoon in his hand and suddenly realized that they just shared it. 

However, as if he hadn’t noticed, Charlie scooped up another spoonful and brought it to her mouth. She opened her mouth but couldn’t chew on it. Instead, she reminded him weakly. The spoon… 

“Yes?” 

Charlie raised his eyebrows and realized what she hadn’t finished. “Do you mind?” 

As he spoke, he intended to change to another one. 

Kamryn immediately explained. “No, I don’t! It’s okay.” 

She grabbed his wrist and munched the spoonful 

He didn’t mind, so why should she?

Chapter 52 

It felt like she was saying she hated him. 

After eating half a portion of the duck, Kamryn was full. 

She had a surprisingly small appetite. Only half a bowl of meat made her burp, and if it weren’t for Charlie’s request, she even wouldn’t have finished half of it. 

Charlie put away the dishes and suddenly said, “About the thing you’ve done for me. In return, you can ask for a few favors from me. I’ll try my best to satisfy your needs.” 

“Favors 

“Yes,” 

Charlie suggested seriously. “You deserve it. You’re not allowed to refuse.” 

Kamryn thought hard about it. She really didn’t want anything else, since he had already given her a house. She really couldn’t think of anything to be dissatisfied with. 

“You don’t want anything?” 

“Well… nothing in particular.” 

“What about your dream?” 

Hearing that, Kamryn pondered for a long time. Suddenly, she said half–jokingly. “I want to be an actor.” 

She loved music and acting since she was a child. In college, she majored in acting and minored in scriptwriting. A month before she would marry Wyatt, she had just got a master’s degree. 

If it weren’t for that incident, she would have been a popular star in the entertainment industry, not Jenna. 

In fact, Jenna didn’t like acting that much, but she knew that Kamryn’s dream was to act, so she asked the Ramsey and Sexton families to invest in film and television companies to make herself a star. 

In her opinion, she had to steal Kamryn’s everything. 

Therefore, when it came to dreams, there seemed to be nothing in particular for Kamryn except for being an actor! 

Charlie raised his striking eyebrow slightly. 

Kamryn noticed the slight change in his expression and panicked a little. “I was just joking. Don’t take it seriously…” 

“If you want to act, you can do it at any time. 

“Anytime?”
