"Ellie, we successfully have removed all the silver in his blood system before it got to his heart, but his body couldn't do with so much as his whole body..." he looked up to meet my eyes, his grey stormy eyes held so much, fear, regret, sorrow, hope. "colten has gone into a coma."
instantly i fell to the ground only to be caught by jake as i cryed, all i could think of was he isn't dead but is suffering. he is't dead but suffering. he isn't dead but suffering.
"we don't know when or if he will wake up, but all we can do is pray for the best." he said finishing his sentence.
once the doctor was out of hearing distance i finally looked up to meet jakes ice cold eyes, they looked a little softer than usual...
"i'm sorry ellie, i know if i hadn'-"
"no, no Jake. it's not your fault so don't you dare blame yourself." i spoke with confidence not wanting him to think any of this was his fault, if anything it's mine.
"as long as you don't blame yourself." he said with all seriousness.
i would never want jake to think this was his fault for trying to protect me from Marty, Marty was just a smart ass, rude, fucker and he deserved to die in hell, which was what he was doing this very moment we speak, i was glad to know i finally had him out of my life and could move on with colten and jake with no secrets.
we both nodded our heads as we made our way towards the front desk, i needed to see colten but didn't know where his room was.
"excuse me, i would like to know where alpha coltens room is." Jake said as kindly as possible to the nurse at the desk.
"alpha isn't seeing any visitors right now." she said not even looking up from her computer.
"we-"
"no, i'm sorry i'm gonna have to ask you to leave." again she said without not looking up.
i let out a warning growl as her head shot up instantly and eyes locked with mine.
"let me see HIM." i said as i tried to hold in my wolf who was begging to come out.
"oh Luna i'm-"
"just let me see him." she nodded her head as she ran over towards the other computer and searched something up quickly then turned around with a key.
"What's going on?" Jake asked in the door way.
"Colten's wolf isn't supposed to come out yet, but due to ellie's crying he's pushing his way out." the doctor said as he fiddled with the monitor.
"Alpha ellie, for your own good I'm going to have to send you home." The nurse said politely.
"Wh-?!"
"Ellie, Colten could die if his wolf comes out to early." Jake said as he tried to pull my arm.
"But, I can't" I started to silently cry. "Okay just let me say goodbye." I walked over to his bed and grabbed his hand and twirled my fingers with his, and then I leaned over to his head and whispered. "Take all the time you need, just come back to me, I love you." And with that I kissed his forehead.
Jake grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the room, once we stepped foot out of Colten's room, and the door shut I let all my emotions come out, and fell into jakes arms, crying my eyes out.
"Shh. shh it's alright." Jake soothed into my ears.
