I didn't have a problem driving alone but I figured that talking about what happened with Cameron without anyone there would be good closure for myself.
"That's all," Tristan announced as he grabbed the white rag off of the hood of the truck and wiped his head with it.
Cameron dusted herself off, "that's awesome."
I nodded in agreement before peering at the building the used to be mine.
"Hey Em," Cameron asked and I hummed in acknowledgment, "what's happening to this place?"
"It's Camara's now; I put it in her name. Now she can do whatever she wants with this." I gestured towards the building before turning my attention to Cameron. "You ready to go?"
She rubbed the back of her neck before making a 'tsk' sound, "Yeah, let's get outta here."
"I'm up with that plan," Tristan agreed, his piercing blue eyes gazed at Cameron.
Well, look at that, I thought before shaking my head.
I'm leaving; there's no time for drama.
After deciding to just go back to Cameron's place to sleep, Tristan shut the back door of the large truck and we all hopped in before drove off.
Cameron woke me up at around dawn and we began getting ready for our trip. Tristan slept peacefully in her bed as we moved silently through her studio apartment, uncertainly stormed through me as I ran through a mental checklist in my head:
Blankets? Check.
Headphones? Check.
Book? Check.
Phone? Check.
If I had everything I needed then why did I feel like I was missing something?
"Em, what are you doing? Come on, we gotta go." Cameron whispered as she stared at me as if I'd grown two heads before she slipped out of the front door.
