When Revenge Becomes Love novel Chapter 4

On hearing I could not stop myself from smiling.

"And when do I get the honour of meeting the new boss?" I asked him.

"Tomorrow night! There will be a big party and all the staff would meet him there. There won't be work today and tomorrow."

"Okay. Great! I hope he is as cool as you."

"Yeah he is. After all whose friend is he!"

"Well is there anything I could do to help? It seems you are searching for something."

"No thanks. You go home and prepare to meet your new boss!"

On my way home all I was thinking was about my new boss. I just hope he is as cool as Gabriel says.

The next day I went shopping. I had to make myself presentable so that the new boss does not have a bad opinion on me.

I went in some shops but I saw nothing interesting. After trying some dresses I sigh in defeat. No dress caught my eyes till now. I was about to leave the shop when my eyes fell on a dress whose top was silver and the bottom was blue. On the top there were small diamonds on it and it flowed to mid thighs. I took it from the handle and went in the dressing room.

Perfect! It was so beautiful and I had the perfect pair of blue earrings home. I took the dress off and gave it to the salesgirl to pack it for me. After I paid for the dress, I ate lunch to restore my energy.

Now it's time to look for heels. The first shop I went in, I found the heels that I wanted. It was silver and had silver glitter on. The heel was quite high but I can walk in it, that's what important. I paid for it and went back home.

The dress that Mia wears for the party is at the side.

The party will be starting in about 2 hours. I have to start getting ready. I went to take a shower and washed my hair. I came out and dry my hair and decide to curl it which I never did before. I took out the curler which was still in its box in the corner of my wardrobe. I curled my hair and tied it in a ponytail across my shoulders. I put on some foundation and a blue eye-shadow with a bit of silver glitter. I put on mascara and a light pink lipstick. I put on my dress and my shoes before grabbing a silver purse which had my phone and my house keys.

I was now ready to meet my new boss!

Before going inside I made sure that I was okay.

I entered inside and was immediately greeted.

"Hey Mia"

I turned and saw Jordan.

I greeted her back and asked her how was she.

"I'm fine and I must say you look very sexy in this dress."

I was now blushing. I didn't expect a girl to tell me this.

I thanked her and said the same to her. She was wearing a long red strapless dress with black heels even though her dress was covering her shoes, knowing Jordan it must have been a black heels as black was her favourite colour.

"Did you see Gabriel?"

"Yeah he's in the backyard."

"Thanks. See you later!"

I went to grab a drink before going to look for Gabriel. I saw Gabriel standing near the pool talking on the phone.

I looked in the direction of the bar. I saw a huge figure with broad shoulders wearing a black suit. Gabriel and I walked to the bar.

"Hi J" Gabriel said when we reached him.

J? What sort of name is this?

The man turned and I got the shock of my life.

"YOU" We both said in unison.

Gabriel had the look you-know-each-other on his face.

I did not bother telling him and I was surprised to see that 'J' also did not answer him.

He continued to stare at me like the other day.

Then Gabriel cleared his throat and we both turned to him.

"Well this is Jacob Max; your new boss and this is Amelia Isabella my secretary." He said winking at me.

I was damn sure that my face was now red like a tomato.

We did not bother to shake our hands.

I turned to Gabriel and I had a sorry look on my face and said excuse me.
