/A few months later/

Mia woke up with the sun rays in her eyes and her entire body feeling wrung out, sore all over. She contemplated rolling over and going back to sleep, because, her limbs ached all over. All thanks to the person sleeping next to her. Staring at the small alarm clock on her bedside, the assistant was able to conclude its noon and that she's only had a good five hours or so.

She was wrapped around Damon, who was snoring peacefully into the nape of her neck.

Turning over in his arms, she studied the curve of his mouth, set in a faint pout, the tiny crease between his brows that suggested he's fighting the pull of waking up. If Mia's mouth didn't taste like bitter grapes, she'd kiss him until they're both sleepy and loose with it, would get her mouth on him, slowly and languidly, all the time in the world, with neither of them having anywhere to be for the rest of the weekend.

Just staring at him, Mia realised that she's the happiest she's been in a while. Her life was just the way she imagined it to be. A permanent job, a guy who's madly in love with her and a house with the best view in New York. Those are the three things which she has dreamed for since the moment she stepped in the big Apple.

Looking around, Mia still couldn't believe that she's in her new house. Their new home. She thought back to the time Damon asked her to move in with him.

It was a casual day at work. Mia was busy drafting the mail for her boss in his office for a change. He insisted she do that in front of him only to add some changes to the draft. Usually, that would mean he wanted her to ride him in his chair, but surprisingly the CEO was very quiet, staring at his laptop with narrowed eyes.

Just as she's about to focus back on her typing, he cleared his throat. Loudly.

"Mia" He met her eyes. "I want to ask you something. You can say no if you want, but it would mean a lot to me if you accept."

The assistant completely stilled for what felt like a decade and still didn't dare look at him. In the back of her mind, she imagined a hundred different ways, but the most important one was related to marriage. They just started dating, okay it has been a few months, but still, it made her nervous.

Damons index finger tapped the back of her hand, just slightly "Will you move in with me?"

"Oh." Mia breathed, shoulders sagging down. The assistant imagined spending more time with him and sharing the same bed, having breakfast together and cuddling together. Her smile grew, opened up into a grin because there's nothing she wanted more. After all she loved him. A lot.

"Alright. I want an extra room too," She demanded, crossing her arms together. "Don't ask me what for. It's just I have a lot of luggage, and sometimes I may be angry with you and need a room of my own"

It wasn't a ridiculous demand, to begin with. They also needed some space. And more often than not she got angry on him which eventually led to hot sex. So there's that.

"Yeah. I mean, yeah. We can look for a new home. Not a problem." Damon's smile started in his eyes before it took over his face, and it's quite possibly the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. "You know, this is not how I thought this would go."

Mia shook her head. "Me neither. Not complaining, though."

"Not complaining."

They were aware that anyone could walk in through the door, catch them flirting instead of doing their work. Damon didn't care about it, though, as he leaned across the table to kiss her.

Mia responded immediately, her eyes rolling back as their lips touched. He cradled her jaw. His fingers were gentle, almost reverent, and at that moment she didn't give a shit about the fact that anyone could walk right in. They're both grinning when they separate.

Damon wheezed, wiping his hands together. "Could have done this months ago if I wasn't so scared."

"We're both stronger now," Mia suggested. "The beauty of growing up?"

The CEO hummed. "Yeah it's not so bad, is it? You know, growing up, settling down and all."

Yeah, Mia thought, humming softly. For all that, she caught the bright gleam of happiness in her boss eyes, lips curving and, yeah.

It wasn't bad at all.

She smiled at the memory. Its been a few months since that incident. They have been living together, and it's going strong. Best of all, their parents had no problem with their relationship; she remembered exactly how it went.

The moment they entered the house, Mr Rossi was sat on the couch.
