We were doing it everywhere and anywhere for a week straight. It was inevitable, really. The chemistry between us was present the moment we laid eyes on each other, and I could not get him out of my head…not that I was trying to.

Speaking of head-

“Damn you are slicker than a honey bun down there,” Joey teased. He looked up at me from his frequently visited spot between my legs. “You and your food references” I joked, letting my head fall back on my pillow as I came down from orgasm. Joey laughed and joined me up top, gently pulling me to him and turning my face towards his so that our lips connected.

“What can I say? I’m insatiable when it comes to you, Kelly” he murmured. I deepened the kiss and let my fingers roam through his hair, down the back of his neck, and across his strong shoulders. He smelled of soap, pine, and man. I felt dizzy and out of my own body every time I got to touch him. He made me feel like I was floating, and had unlocked a natural tendency for affection that I didn’t know I was capable of showing.

As clichéd as it sounded, Joey made me feel just like those girls in the tacky romance books that show up from out-of-town and get swept off their feet by the handsome cowboy. Not that Joey was a cowboy by any means, although I have seen him ride a horse shirtless and I was definitely not complaining…He owned a successful local business fixing up older, vintage motorcycles and reselling them for triple their value to collectors. I’d been down to his shop a few times to watch him work. I discovered why he was so damn good with hands after one day in the shop…he could turn an old, beat-up Harley from the ’70s into a thing of beauty.

He had a focus and work ethic ingrained in him that was sexier than any entitled guy born into a wealthy family could ever be. He even had his own place on a slightly more polished block but preferred to be around family as much as possible. Yet another quality of his that I absolutely adored.

The more time I spent around Joey, the more I began to discover about myself. I learned that I valued a lot of what he valued…I just hadn’t had the platform to express it. Affection, family bonding, honesty, love…I know, it was too early to even fathom if this was love. But then again, is it ever too early to love?

“What are you thinking missy?” I closed the door on my thoughts and returned back to reality, to Joey’s arms…my happy place. The late afternoon drizzle had turned into a steady downpour and the sound of the fat droplets against the windowpane made our space here even more intimate.

“I’m thinking about who I was before I met you,” I answered semi-honestly. I didn’t want to freak the man out with the l word quite yet, though I had a feeling he didn’t scare easily.
