William’s expression remained calm and devoid of any extra emotion. He mused, “Giving up a seat for Ms. Ariana’s sake is not impossible.” 

Hearing this, Gwen instantly brightened up. “I knew it, Mr. Kingsman! I knew you’d definitely make it happen!” 

William offered a faint smile and continued, “Since Mrs. Torrey has made the request, we should offer our largest event hall for Mr. Torrey’s birthday celebration” 

At this, Gwen, oblivious to the implications, simply beamed. She smiled ear to ear. “Wonderful! This is the best possible outcome! Mr. Kingsman, you’re truly a generous and kind man!” 

He was far better than that Brian, by any measure! 

Seeing Gwen’s elation, William turned to Jonathan and instructed him, “Proceed as we discussed. Have the payment–double the price–transferred to my account.” 

“Yes, Mr. Kingsman.” 

Without sparing Gwen another glance, William turned and walked away. 

Gwen, taken aback at first by the mention of payment, thought of chasing after him but stopped when she realized he was already gone. 

After a moment’s reflection, she dismissed her concern. Double the cost? So be it! How expensive could an event hall possibly be? 

Just then, Jonathan approached Gwen with a professional smile. “Mrs. Torrey, the total comes to 12 million dollars. How would you like to pay?” 

“How much is it again?” 

Gwen froze upon hearing the figure. 

12 million dollars? How could it be this expensive? 

Jonathan explained patiently, “Mrs. Torrey, Mr. Kingston gave up our largest hall. The booking comes with a feast 

last three days and nights. And since you’re paying double the price as per Mr. Kingston’s conditions…”

Gwen’s lips twitched as she forced a strained smile.

Was William doing this on purpose?

Noticing her hesitation, Jonathan prompted her politely. 

With several onlookers observing the scene, Gwen had no choice but to steel herself. “Swipe the card.”

Booking the hall should have been a joyous occasion, but Gwen couldn’t bring herself to smile. 

How many parties could she have thrown with that 12 million dollars?
