Chapter 19

The car rolled to a stop at the college entrance. Selena then followed Ariana into the seventh floor te b Block A.

Since William had already started his talk for more than ten minutes, the entire hall was dead silent and for

Selena just stood at the entrance and peeked into the hall. She sighed and said, “It reeks of brains inside. I think we’re a little too late…”

Before she managed to finish her sentence, Ariana threw the door open and walked in.

Selena’s first instinct was to curse aloud.

“What the fuck?”

Inside the hall, hundreds of pairs of eyes were suddenly on Ariana. William was also one of the people who tooled at her.

William was wearing a white button–up shirt with his sleeves slightly rolled up. He was tall and lanicy and had deep–set features on his face. He wore a pair of gold–rimmed glasses on his face, and his brows gave him a cold and aloof aura.

Ariana said aloud, “I’m sorry I’m late, sir!”

Her haughty voice rang loudly in the hall, making some of the students stifle their laughter.

Who would have the balls to be so loud and brazen when they were late for a lecture?

“Sit down,” William said before shifting his gaze away from Ariana. He then continued with his tople as if the sudden interruption never happened.

Meanwhile, Selena had been scared stiff at the door when the incident happened. Since when had Ariana become so bold?

Where was the timid and soft–spoken best friend she used to know? Why had she suddenly started acting so out of character?

Selena couldn’t be bothered to find out. She didn’t want to cross Ariana. Also, she had no interest whatsoever in listening to rich people bragging about their wealth in lectures.

So, Selena crouched down and disappeared out of sight.

Ariana went into the hall and took a seat in the first row.

The open lecture lasted for 40 minutes. And for all 40 minutes, Ariana never took her eyes off William.

Somewhere in between, William glanced very briefly at her, twice, and it only served to intensify Ariana’s determined gaze on him.

When they both reached the entrance to the break room on the same floor, William suddenly yanked Ariana inside. At once, Ariana could feel William pressing her back against the wall.

His eyes were glinting dangerously, “What is the point of seeing me here today, Ms. Torrey?”

Ariana held her breath when she heard what he said.

She rarely ever crossed paths with William. She honestly hadn’t expected him to know who she was.

She answered, “Mr. Kingsman, aren’t you going to consider my question first?”

“Did Brian send you here?” William asked with a cold chortle. “Tell him that the piece of land in Goldfront Bay will be mine.”

“But you’ll make a huge loss!”

Seeing that William didn’t budge, Ariana said, “It’s a trap Brian set for you. Mr. Kingsman, I’m trying to help you?”

“Really?”

William cocked his brow. “I remember Ms. Torrey saying that a certain William Kingsman was an ugly homosexual with a terrible temper that nobody wanted. And you say that you’re helping me now? Did you think anybody would even believe you?”
