“Got it.” Hunter quickly got the contract printed out. 

There were only a few clauses on the contract–Victor had worded it simply as though he was worried that anything more complicated might confuse Ariana, 

He had especially written the clauses beneficial to Ariana in bold. 

Once she made sure everything was in order, she signed the contract. 

Hunter handed the contract back to Victor, who signed it without taking another look. 

Ariana spoke up, “Mr. Smith, is there anything else? If not, I’ll head home now.” 

“I thought you wanted to exercise your left arm. Aren’t you gonna do that?” Victor asked flatly. 

“Dr. Finch is the one responsible for my rehabilitation program. Don’t tell me you know a thing or two about rehab too?” 

Simon chimed in as Victor’s wingman, “Didn’t I tell you I wasn’t as good as Victor when it comes to treating surface injuries? If you’d like, you could get Victor to help you out.” 

Alas, Ariana had no interest in Victor at all. She immediately turned down the suggestion. “Forget about it. I don’t plan to do that.” 

She rose from her seat, ready to leave, but Hunter had walked over and shut the door. 

Taken aback, she thought, “Don’t I have the right to refuse?” 

Turning around, she took a look at Victor. He calmly asked, ‘Ms. Torrey, do you want to take a seat yourself, or do you want me to force you to take a seat?” 

Simon grumbled, “Victor, you’ve got to be nice to girls. What’s with that attitude?” 

Despite saying that, he got up and walked out of the door. Before he left, he gave Ariana a knowing smile. 

Her face immediately fell. She had thought Simon was a good man, but he turned out to be the same as Victor. 

“So, Mr. Smith, what do you plan to teach me?” She plopped into her seat reluctantly. 

Unfazed, he said to her, “Give me your hand.” 

“Okay.” She obediently extended her hand. 

It was hard for her to use a pen with all the wounds on her right hand and arm. Her arm felt sore just from extending it. 

Victor placed a pen in her right hand. “Write something. 

She quietly rolled her eyes, but she complied. It took her a while to write her name on the paper with wriggly handwriting. 

“You probably won’t even be able to finish answering one question by the end of the exam.” 

“Gee, thanks for the reminder, Mr. Smith.” 

Ariana knew very well that she couldn’t take any exams given the condition of her arm, but the exam in nine days
