Chapter 310
“You little witch! Get out here!”
Chloe stormed down the hallway, cursing under her breath as she reached Fiona’s door.
Hearing the commotion, Fiona’s face paled the moment she saw the furious woman outside her room. “Mrs. Knox, you can’t just barge into my room! You… Ah!”
Before Fiona could finish her sentence, Chloe slapped her across the face.
“How dare you hit me?”
Fiona’s expression darkened. Ever since she had started gaining favor at school, she had been basking in the admiration of her classmates. This was the first time she had ever been slapped, and she was beyond furious.
“And why the hell shouldn’t I? Do you even realize the mess you got me into?! You knew your cousin was some rich heiress, but you s
went around spreading rumors about her, making me offend her in the process! You little snakel How could you be so vicious?”
The accusation made Fiona’s expression shift. She clenched her fists and snapped, “Who can prove it was me? You have no right to pin this on me!”
“Oh, please! You and I both know the truth! I’ve seen plenty of jealous women like you, always scheming against
what? those richer than them! But I never thought you’d set me up just to make yourself look good! Well, guess The joke’s on you! Get out! You’re not welcome in my house anymore!”
The landlady was known for her sharp tongue and fiery temper.
Fiona shot up from her seat, glaring at the older woman. “Hah! As if I’d ever want to stay in this rundown dump! Let me tell you something you’ll regret crossing me more than you regret offending Ariana!”
Truthfully, Fiona had already planned on leaving. The only reason she had come back was to pack her things.
Belinda had personally told her to move into the Lodge estate. She had been given a few days to gather her belongings before officially settling in
If it weren’t for the fact that the Lodge family hadn’t sent a car yet, she wouldn’t have wasted another second in this tiny, worn–down apartment complex.
Fiona had completely forgotten how proud she once felt when she first moved into this place–back when she had just arrived in the city, alone and full of hope.
“Pift!”
Chloe couldn’t believe she had once pitied this girl. She had rented the room out at a ridiculously low price, thinking she was helping a poor, struggling student.
And now? This ungrateful brat was turning her nose up at it, acting as if she had graced the place with her
presence.
What an ingrate!
Soon, Fiona had all of her belongings loaded up and dragged them downstairs. But when she reached the entrance of the complex, she hesitated.
The Lodge family still hadn’t reached out to her. Should she call them first? Or would that make her seem too eager?
