Brian stared at Ariana for a long time without saying a word The vein in his forehead was throbbing. In the end, he could only grit his teeth and say, “Ariana, don’t regret this!” 

“How could I possibly regret it? If you’re leaving, that’s just what I want.” 

Ariana looked completely unmoved. She knew Brian’s personality. He wouldn’t be able to stand a 

humiliating him like this. 

At that moment, William walked toward them. It was obvious he had come on purpose because he headed straight in their direction. 

Brian lost all desire to continue speaking with Ariana. 

“I heard my student was being cornered here, so I came to take a look. I didn’t expect it to be you, Mr. Lodge.” 

William walked up and stood beside Ariana naturally. The two looked like a perfect match. 

Brian had never found them so irritating to look at before. 

“Mr. Lodge just wanted to talk with me,” Ariana said. “But think he’s ready to leave. Right, Mr. Lodge?” 

Ariana clearly sided with William. Their closeness made it seem like she barely knew Brian at all, even though Ariana used to be Brian’s fiancée.. 

“Yes, we’re done talking. I’m leaving.” Brian turned and walked out of the building. 

Emily had never seen Brian look so grim. She hesitated, took a step forward, and asked, “Mr. Lodge, did things not go well with Ms. Torrey?” 

He had been fine on the way to the college, but now he was furious. It had to be connected to Ariana. 

Brian said nothing. It was the first time he had cared this much about a woman. Yet, Ariana had just said those things to him. 

“From now on, I won’t involve myself in anything about Ariana. You keep your mouth shut about her too.” 

After leaving these words behind, Brian strode off. 

Emily stood there stunned. She had heard this line from him at least three times, yet every time she hadn’t reported Ariana’s whereabouts, Brian had scolded her. 

Should she believe him this time or not? 

Inside the building, Ariana exhaled a long sigh. 

William raised an eyebrow and said, “Congratulations on ranking first in the graduation exams.” 

“How did you know? I thought you were going to ask why I got a zero.” 

“There was an emergency meeting. Two student union members were expelled and your exam score was restored. But the exam papers were too damaged to see clearly, so you have to retake it. That’s just to silence any doubts.”
