But when she hung up a few moments later, the smile on her face had vanished.

Ye Fan saw the look on her face and quickly poured his mother a glass of water. "Mum, I told you that I'd just stay in the storeroom. It's easier to put up with myself than others."

Ye Fan ended up staying the night in the storeroom by the side.

He got Lu Wen-Jing to sleep with his mother.

But even so, Ye Xi-Mei went over to tidy up that storeroom herself.

She made sure that there wasn't a speck of dust inside and even put a vase of flowers by the bedside.
