Izzy’s POV
As I had figured I got to the territory at first light, the next day. I can tell that no one settled down here after the attack and that makes it a little bit better for me.
No one will interfere with my investigation and there will be no one asking questions I don’t want to answer. Even though it has been close to fifteen years since the attack, with my Lycan senses I can make out more than Wolves could.
I can still make out the bloodstains on the ground and again it is less than there should have been. Most buildings are gone, but the Pack–house for some reason is still standing.
It looks like it might crumble if I blow at it, but it is still there. Walking around the Pack–house, I find the Alpha’s office and I know that if I am able to find any answers it will be in there.
I get in through a window and the floor squeaks under my feet. Knowing where Alpha Maddox keeps his records on Pack–members, I make my way over to the desk.
– I find them in the bottom drawer and I make a call to Stephan even though I know it is in the middle of
the night for him. At the third ring he picks up and crumbles: “This better be good.”
Laughing I say: “Good morning, Sunshine. For a second it is quiet at the other end. “Izzy, what is it?” he asks and I tell him I found the Alpha’s list of Pack–members.
He tells me to hold on a second and I hear him rummage through some papers. “Okay. According to the Council’s list, they found thirty–five pups, sixty–six females and ninety–three males. What does your list say?”
I look at the list and I realize that the total amount is correct, just the amount of males and children are incorrect. I tell Stephan that there were forty–six pups and eighty–two males and that this list was up–dated the day before the attack.
And once again we wonder why they would take prisoners and dump dead bodies in their place. The only answer I can come up with is an answer I am not willing to share with Stephan, it is to horrifying to consider.
After talking for a little while longer, I tell him I will make another detour for him before ending the call.
An hour after I leave the Pack’s territory, I find a spot to have my breakfast and get some much needed sleep. This time I fall asleep within minutes.
Jordan’s POV.
I am still sitting on the tree–trunk, staring at the pond. Julian left hours ago, but I am still processing everything he told me. Because of Stephan I knew they were on to something, but this was a lot to process.
There has been a lot of intel on the Evil Moon Pack lately and Alpha Maddox is considering helping three Pack’s that fear they are next on their list. When Julian told me where the Packs were situated, I asked him how Dagmar felt about it.
And it did not surprise me when he said she wanted to lend a hand. But something about it was bugging me and for the life of me I could not figure it out.

I know that right now I am not able to find the answer, so I get up and head home and call it a night.
Izzy’s POV
Two days later I am at the second Pack from Stephan’s list and again I realize fast that no one has settled.
down here.
This Pack was attacked almost two decades ago. I could still make out the bloodstains, but it was already too far gone to give me the same impression the other scenes had given me.
