Troy’s POV.

“Gina never gave much about the legend, not even when she met Maddox. But Grace on the other hand was very curious about it and wanted to hear it over and over.” 

Izzy is staring in to nothing and I wonder if she even heard the whole story. 

“Were there no written records on the legend?” She asks and I nod my head. I had already pulled the records and put them on the chair next to me. Handing them to her, I ask her why she is interested in it. 

She asks if I can keep a huge secret, I can’t even tell my family. “You’re lucky I don’t have a Mate, because I could never keep a secret from my Mate. But I promise you, whatever you tell me, it will stay between us.” 

Izzy’s POV. 

I can tell that my secret is going to be safe with Troy, so I decide to tell him everything. 

“I am sorry but I have not been completely honest. I will be holding the speech at Luna Gina’s memorial, – but that is not the sole reason I came. Luna Liza told me that over thirty years ago Grace disappeared for a 

few months. What do you know about that?” 

He tells me that he remembers Grace disappearing for a while, but that no one in the family knew why and that Grace would get really mad if anyone asked her about it. 

I look him in the eye and say “She left to give birth to me and dump me with my Father.” His jaw drops and he shakes his head in disbelief. 

I tell him how I found out, what I overheard and that I had been searching ever since. I tell him that I still don’t understand that she could life in the same house as me and completely ignore me.

“You are Grace’s Daughter?” He asks, looking at me in disbelief. I tell him my entire story, about the four and a half years of my life. I even confide in him about Jordan and my doubt on whether or not I should settle for a chosen Mate. 

“You are Grace’s Daughter?” He asks again and I nod my head. He tells me that if Grace put any value in to the legend, he could imagine her leaving me. After all my Father was not an Alpha, so I would not have any ability’s. And maybe that was what she was after. 

We talk for hours about why Grace would have left me or treated me the way she did. But we both realize. there is only one person that can answer those questions. 

Troy’s P.O.V. 

Izzy found answers, but I have a feeling that there are still a lot unanswered. And not all of them involve her Mother 

Like Izzy, I searched for my Mate for years and I had already given up when I finally found her. Molly was the best thing that ever happened to me and it still makes me sad, thinking about her. 

I was sixty–three years old and my Alpha had sent me to a Pact to escort a family to our territory. They had asked Alpha Donny for help, because their Alpha was a sadistic ass. Their Daughter had found her Mate, but her Alpha refused to let her leave.

When the two of them had decided to run off together, they were caught by the Alpha and he had killed her Mate. So they asked Alpha Donny to get them all out of that Pack. 

Her Aunt was a member of pur Pack, mated to a Warrior. Alpha Donny knew about the Alpha and the way he ruled his Pack 

The first Full Moon they spent in our Pack, was the night I found out Molly was my Mate. Knowing she had just lost her first Mate, I told her that she was the one setting the pace, 

It took Molly two seconds to make up her mind, she jumped in to my arms and I took her back to my cottage. She had not been marked by her first Male and they never mated. So she was nervous when we got home. 

I walked straight in to the bedroom, still holding her in my arms. Looking in her eyes, I lowered my head and kissed her. She gasped and that gave me the change to deepen the kiss 

Slowly undressing her, I kept an eye out on any chance in her posture and I would have stopped at the first signs. But it seemed she was as eager as me and she started pulling on my shirt.
