Chapter 347 Ruin Everything
Amir’s p.o.v.
“Amir, wake up.” Pedro says as he opens the door to my bedroom and holds out a phone.
Something just left Shadewoods Mansion out of one of the back windows. Not sure what it is, but you better get here now.
A message from the team that watches the mansion and I wake up the rest of my team to accompany me to the mansion.
Whatever it was, it jumped into the trees.
Now I am intrigued, Matrius is finally showing some interest in the outside world again. Usually he just lies in the back of my head and shows up whenever I need him, but he barely speaks to me anymore.
“I talk when I need to.” Matrius mumbles.
We get to my other team about five minutes later and we get a quick update on the whereabouts of the mysterious Shifter who left the mansion.
I let Matrius listen for any sound and I can feel his frustration grow when he can’t hear a sound, which supports my suspicion of a Shifter.
“What kind of Shifter can move through trees without making a sound?” Matrius asks me.
“A well trained Feline Shifter.” I answer him, not that I have ever met a Feline Shifter.
We are aware of other Shifters, but most of them don’t interact with Wolves and Lycans and my Mother always believed that it is the reason why some of us have a hard time finding our fated Mate.
The rustling of leaves draws my attention to a tree on my left and my eyes widen when I am staring into the eyes of a Mountain Lion, who softly jumps from the branch in front of me. The Mountain Lion slowly moves behind some bushes and a minute later my jaw drops.
“Giselle?” I hear Wade ask and the female shakes her head.
“My name is Mateja and I don’t know anyone by that name.” She answers Wade and I realize that this is Lucas’ Half-sister.
“Why don’t we get out of here? We can deal with the questions later.” I suggest and order my other team to resume their observation of the mansion.
Within ten minutes we are back at the house and I show Mateja the room she can use, still a little baffled.
“Why did you call me Giselle?” Mateja asks Wade the moment she walks into the living room and Pedro turns his laptop around to show her a picture of Giselle.
“I can even help you with that.” She says while pointing at the whiteboard.
We stare at the whiteboard with ten names on it and no clue as to their whereabouts. The location that Clover found in Rogueyard, which was rented by Marcel, had been abandoned and we hadn’t found any other property that was rented in Marcel’s name.
“They are at the same location that he wants to hold Giselle at, if I remember correctly then each of them was trained for a specific task within that location.” Mateja says. “I don’t know the tasks they were trained for, but it didn’t sound good.”
Now the time-table for the disappearances makes sense, it takes longer to break a male than a female. It is easier to break someone within a year of being rejected or if they are older or without their Shifter half.
Grabbing Dorian might have served two purposes; on one hand he would be easy to break and on the other his surveillance wouldn’t take up a lot of time. They had been in a hurry to find the last of their Servants, it was getting closer to Giselle’s birthday and the next Full Moon.
“Lucas has been preparing for this after he lost his chance with June and he has gone over every possible scenario he could think of, except for his next victim to be marked.” Mateja says.
It makes sense that he would be more careful this time, but it didn’t do him any good. He couldn’t have foreseen that Adora would have forced a shift to save her Human or that they would be in the same room as their fated Mate on a Full Moon.
No matter how many scenarios Lucas went through, he overlooked the one that could ruin everything.
