Chapter 462
Maleah’s p.o.v.
After hearing Harvey explain what he found I try to remember if I ever noticed something different between Max and Elyse and every other Alpha and Luna I met. I never thought anything of it because most things I remember are from my childhood and I hardly ever interacted with Max after I started my career, only seeing Elyse when I designed an outfit for her.
Looking back I remember that Elyse asked Max’s approval for just about everything she planned on doing, I never thought much of it as I figured this was normal behavior between a mated couple. I didn’t even question it after meeting my first client, an Alpha and Luna that wanted me to design an outfit for their Daughter’s Luna Ceremony and knowing what I know now I realize that Max kept Elyse on a short leash.
She went from being abused physically to mental abuse and I don’t like either one of them. Dominic informs all of us that he has summoned the Pack to assemble at the Pack-house for a Pack-meeting, the only ones not attending will be the ones on border patrol. “Alpha, if you don’t mind I can have Maleah’s teams take over border patrol. All her teams are here and most of your Warriors have encountered one or more of them already.” Harvey suggests and Dominic tells him he would like to take him up on that offer.
Harvey and Pauline leave our house to go see our Head Warrior and to make sure that all the patrols head to the Pack-house as ordered by Dominic, this will be so much easier with all the Pack-members present. Once Harvey informs me that my teams have taken over the border patrols we leave for the Pack-house, Max and Elyse are waiting for us on the front porch and every other Pack-member is standing in front of the Pack-house.
Dominic tells his parents to take a seat, we decided it would be best if Max couldn’t get away to fast and the sitting area on the front porch was our best option. The rest of our former leadership join them and soon Max is surrounded but I doubt he is aware of that. He looks to much at ease and he has a smug look on his face as he leans back in his seat, I don’t think he would do that if he knew what was coming his way.
Nightmare and her friends get called to the front of the crowd and all of them look at me and Delaney with a smirk on their faces. “My Brothers and I have told each and everyone of you over and over again that we wouldn’t settle for a chosen Mate, Mack, Kay and Levi have told you all the same. For some reason a few of you have decided to ignore that message and you went as far as lying to your future Luna.” Dillon says as he looks around the crowd.
Most of the Pack-members start mumbling at his words and he allows them a few minutes to let it sink in, before he demands their attention again. “Delaney, I want to apologize for the way we reacted when you tried to discipline one of our Pack-members. They are as much your Pack-members as they are ours and if you think it is necessary to discipline someone you have every right to do that.” Dillon says as he looks at his Mate and from the corner of my eye I see a very angry looking Max.
As we discussed earlier Delaney steps forward to address the Pack, “Hello, my name is Delaney and I am mated to your Alphas.” She says and most of the crowd start cheering, relieved that their Alphas have finally found their Mate. Delaney explains to the Pack what had happened in the dining room the other day and I am not sure what has them growling, is it the disrespect Nightmare showed her or the behavior of their Alphas.
“Because I don’t want a repeat of that situation we will be holding a vote, a vote on whether or not they are banned from the Pack-house. If they get banned from the Pack-house they will only be allowed to enter the Pack-house under guard when their Alphas demand their presence for some reason, other than that they are not allowed to set foot in the Pack-house. Breaking this banishment will result in a week in the dungeons and if they break it for the third time they will be banished from the Pack.” Delaney says.
Max tries to get up to object but Dad and Colter hold him back, Dominic turns to his Fater and tells him that we will discuss his objections in a few minutes. Delaney tells the Pack-members to step to her left if they agree with the banishment and to step to her right if they are against the banishment, it only takes a few minutes for everyone to chose a side. Looks like Nightmare and her friends are no longer welcome in the Pack-house, not one member took their side.
Kay has an arm around my waist as he guides me into the Pack-house, like my other Mates he has been as close to me as he can and I have a feeling that they will stay close for the time being. “Maybe you and Delaney really have to tell your Mates every time you leave their side where you are going.” Fortune says and I am reminded of the other day, I link Delaney to remind her of it. She looks over her shoulder at me with a small smile on her face.
Instead of us telling them where we are going every time to tease them, we have to tell them to keep their Lycans from freaking out. I think if either one of us would leave now without telling them where we are going all hell will break lose and every Pack-member would be able to feel their worry and anxiety through the Pack-bond, which in turn will send our whole Pack into a panic. Yeah, it is safe to say that we need to make sure they know where we are, at least for the time being.
Dominic opens the door to their office and we can hear Max growl the moment Dax walks in with Delaney by his side, not that he impressing any of us with it. Dominic sits down in his chair behind his desk and pulls Delaney on his lap while his Brothers sit down in their own chairs, after they moved them closer to Dominic’s chair. Kay guides me to three chairs on the other side of the desk and I think Dad placed them there, because they weren’t there the last time I was in this office.
“What are they doing here? I want them out of here, because I am not going to discuss anything with them present.” Max growls and I see anger flashing through the eyes of our Alphas. Max doesn’t seem to understand that his Sons will run this Pack in a very different way, they will allow Delaney to make decisions for herself and they will back her up if anyone questions her decisions.
“Dad, you don’t have to discuss anything in front of Delaney and Maleah. All you have to do is listen to what we have to say and if you don’t like what we have to say I suggest you start looking for another place to live outside this territory.” Dominic growls in his direction.
