Chapter 464
Maleah’s p.o.v.
Fortune pushes forward the moment Max lunges forward, Mack and Levi have trouble pulling him away from our Alphas and Luna and when I hear her scream in pain I step in. I grab him by the neck and pull him away with such a force that he smacks against the wall, leaving him unconscious on the floor. This Idiot will be mine to deal with and I tell Dominic to take Delaney to the infirmary.
I don’t look at her injuries because I have this feeling Max will end up dead if I do and I think the Pack should decide what happens to him for attacking their Luna. I also want to give Doc the time to sedate Elyse if the Pack decides to give him the heaviest punishment, she is an innocent bystander in all of this and I have seen what happens when you kill a Mate without sedating the other half.
My Mates are the only ones left in the office with me and each of them stays back as I take a few steps towards Max, waiting for him to regain consciousness. It takes him a few minutes to wake up and as he slowly sits up straight I take another step forward, releasing some of my Assassin aura when he looks up at me. “You will answer to the Pack for hurting your Luna, for the time being I am going to put you in the dungeons.” I say, but Max just shakes his head.
“I am an Alpha, you can’t stop me from walking out of this room.” He growls as he gets to his feet, but the next second he is on his knees. I am still not releasing my full aura, because if I do he won’t get up for the next few hours and I am not sure how fast my Alphas want to deal with this. When four Warriors walk into the room Max is unconscious again and they pick him up without asking questions, leaving me alone with my Mates.
They wrap their arms around me to calm me and Fortune down and I sigh as I let myself get wrapped in the comfort they provide me, just allowing me to have a few moments with them. “Angel, we better get to the infirmary. Doc just linked me, our Alphas need someone to put them in their place.” Levi says teasingly and I hear the others chuckle as Fortune softly growls.
I take another minute to enjoy the arms of my Mates around me, before I tell them that I need to know the injury Max inflicted on Delaney and Mack walks ahead of us to open the door of the office. It only takes a minute or two to get to the infirmary, but I know that for my Alphas it probably have felt like hours. A nurse tells us to follow her the moment we walk into the infirmary and she leaves us the moment she sees our Alphas pacing the floor a few feet away.
I can sense Doc behind the door, but I can tell that he is reluctant to face his Alphas and through the mind-link I tell him that I will deal with them if necessary. He slowly opens the door to report to his Alphas about Delaney’s situation and I can feel their Alpha aura slipping from them, I take a step forward as I let my aura seep out. “Alphas, back down.” I growl softly before I reign my aura in again, just a little warning towards them that I can handle them.
“Our Luna will be fine. If you hadn’t gotten her attacker away on time, I am not sure what the outcome would have been. Her attacker knew what to aim for, whoever did it also wanted to weaken two of you. Her marks on the left side were just missed by the claws of her attacker.” Doc states and I quickly push him behind me when our Alphas release their aura again, not that anyone can blame them.
There are a few ways known to weaken an Alpha, the first one is to kill his Mate and the second is to cut into her mark. Max knows this as a former Alpha and he knew that if he was able to weaken two of his Sons, he would have a better chance at killing Delaney. We all know what Doc’s words indicated and I know that Max will not live to see another day, “Doc, get back to your Luna. I will be guarding her the moment I have calmed down our Alphas. No one gets into that room without my approval.” I growl.
We can start by taking out the Rogues they enlisted, I already have confirmation that they are definitely Rogues and are still near the locations in the files. Once we start taking out the next layer of Wolves and Lycans involved, we need to move fast before our main targets go into hiding.” Harvey explains and I actually like his plan, up to a certain point that is.
Our main targets will be dealt with in the same way I deal with all my assignments, “Harvey, I want full files on our main targets. Let the teams now that they can start with taking out the Rogues, make sure they are found in public places. Just in case anyone remembers that they had dealings with the Dayborne Brothers or Bornshade Sisters.” I says as I grab the first file on one of the Packs of which I suspect the Alpha was involved.
Luckily there are only two files and I am going to send out my best Scout to investigate one of them. The other file I will hand to Mattew, the Scout that was present when I finally told everyone I shifted at the age of eight. Dad told me he was the best Scout the Pack has and I think it is only fair that I include Pack-members on this assignment, “Mack, can you help Harvey with dividing the first part of this assignment? I believe our Pack-members would like to be part of this.” I say before I get up to open the door.
I chuckle when I see Matthew and Caspara standing on the front porch, Matthew is about 6”4 while Caspara barely reaches 5”3. She could play hide and seek behind him. Heck, I think she would be able to hide behind his back if she had the right equipment and Fortune is rolling around in my head. I introduce her to the others before I hand Matthew and Caspara their new assignment, “I want the two of you to find evidence that either exonerates the Alphas or proves their quilt.”
Both of them quickly glance inside the file, before they nod their heads and walk out again. Harvey stares after them with his mouth wide open and I know exactly why.
