Chapter 135
The next day, Cordy woke up to find a text from John.
(Good morning, dear.]
She pursed her lips, not even noticing herself that her lips were curling upward in a smile as she
read the text.
Still, she got changed, put on her makeup, and went to work as usual… But when she arrived outside her office, she found Simon, Plum, and Sue there, waiting for her.
“Oh, you’re here, Cordy.” Sue even greeted her warmly.
Cordy simply glanced at them sideways, obviously aware of what they wanted to do.
She simply strode into her own office and took a seat at the desk, while they entered.
“Cordy,” Simon began, his attitude passable. “Your grandmother came to apologize to you.”
When he finished, he quickly shot a look at Plum–who was still upset she had to humble herself and apologize to Cordy.
However, she had to bear with it as she knew that it meant prison otherwise, not to mention that she had all she needed to torment Cordy!
She just had to resolve the issue at hand for now…
Taking a moment to calm herself, Plum walked up to Cordy, appearing kindly as she reached out to take Cordy’s hand–only to be rejected by Cordy right away.
Left hanging, Plum quickly regained composure nonetheless and said, “Cordy, I made a mistake the other day. I was just so upset, I lost control and hit you… I heard your ear was hurt, so I brought you some fruits and supplements to help with your recovery,”
As she spoke, she hurriedly put the boxes of gifts on Cordy’s desk, but Cordy only spared it a glance and did not seem to care much in particular.
Anything could wait until after they swindled Cordy.
“Well, what do I have to do for you to forgive me? Would you like to slap me instead?”
Plum actually appeared sincere about that.
Cordy simply smiled–if she dared to hit Plum, her lawsuit against Plum would be moot, while the Sachs could use that as an excuse to destroy her!
“Well, I wouldn’t dare,” Cordy said bluntly.
Beside them, Sue was actually disappointed–she had brought a hidden camera, and if Cordy
really did hit Plum, she would destroy Cordy’s reputation with that evidence!
“Well, what would you like me to do?” Plum asked with a mild look.
