"Yeah." Sam nodded—he did not blame her since she was not at fault.

"So what?" Sam shot back.

Quinn was left feeling awkward. "Didn't you say we were going to wait? I'd really rather not…"

"What do you take me for?! If I wanted it that badly, I would've bled you dry!" Sam snorted grumpily. "Look, we're sharing a bed from now on whether we're doing it or not."

"You mean… we're sleeping together from now on?"

He held her so tightly there was not a spot where air could escape, and the night turned silent.

Neither of them spoke, but Quinn could feel Sam's heart thumping from the back.

Her heart was racing with an irregular pace as well.

She suspected she was not going to fall asleep tonight either—not when Sam had her in his arms like this.

Still, she suddenly relaxed as Sam's breathing turned rhythmic behind herself and gingerly turned to face him.
