"Finally! Time for food!" Zoe said excitedly as she walked up to them.

Cordy felt a little guilty. She knew Zoe had been waiting for them, and hadn't eaten all day because of that.

"Aren't you going to eat, John?" Zoe asked the man who was standing there without moving. "You worked so hard last night, so you must be hungry. Look, you're even losing muscle mass because of hunger! Come on. I've ordered some soup for you."

Zoe was enthusiastic about it, but John simply stared at Cordy. Just then, his stomach let out a loud rumble.

"...Zoe ordered it for you. You should eat before you leave," Cordy finally said.

John had been fighting down a smile, and the corner of his lips quirked up at her reply. Zoe also had a cunning smile on her face at Cordy's words.

Somehow, Cordy felt like she had been set up by the two of them.

The three sat down at the dining table and started to eat. Zoe was livelier than the two, and started pointing out the dishes on the table.

"This is an herbal chicken soup I ordered for you, Cordy. It replenishes your energy and strengthens your kidneys. It also helps with dark circles under your eyes from staying up late at night. You'll be as good as new once you drink it, okay? And this is a special blend of herbal soup for you, John. It's for... Well, I don't need to tell you what it's for, right?" Zoe finished with a wink at John.

John was speechless.

Seriously? Hadn't he suffered enough last night?!

"Hurry up and drink your soup," Zoe said as she served them a bowl each.

"Have some yourself," Cordy said as she ignored John.

"I'm not that lucky," Zoe groaned. "My food’s different from yours. I ordered a low-fat meal. I'm an actress, you know? Can't be indulging in food like this."

"I told you to stop with that acting career of yours and come work at Levine Ventures," John said.

"No way!" Zoe refused flat out. "I'd rather starve to death on the streets than have a boring routine job!"

John glared at her words, but Zoe pretended not to see it.

Cordy tried to diffuse the atmosphere by changing the topic. "Where did you go last night?"

Besides, Cordy had urged him to leave a few times. Staying on any longer would only cause her to dislike him even more, so it was better if he left.

More importantly, there were some things he needed to take care of; like Kyle, for example.

John set down his utensils quietly. Before he left, he said, "Make sure you eat more. It's not important if your chest is small or not. The main thing is you shouldn't lose any more weight."

Cordy was speechless at his words, and Zoe was still laughing after he left.

"Oh my... John's a really good guy, isn't he?" Zoe said proudly.

Cordy didn't deny it, but she didn't agree either. She wouldn't give any comment on a man who was engaged.

The fact that she ate a lot during that meal also had nothing to do with John's advice. She was simply hungry, and she had learned from her mistakes. Kyle had managed to get the drop on her because she had been too tired and hadn’t paid attention to her health. She wouldn't let the same thing repeat.

When she thought about Kyle, her eyes grew hard and cold.

There were some people in this world who didn't deserve any mercy!
